2nd Rolex Advice Needed
Hey everyone im considering picking up a BNIB Hulk soon and currently have a DJ2 116333 (two tone black arabic numerals). I love my DJ2 but am looking for something to wear for the more casual days. Since my DJ2 has the black dial i figured a Hulk would compliment it nicely. I love the brushed bracelet and the green really grew on me when i saw the watch in person and tried it on.
To fund some of the watch i want to trade in a gold cuban link chain that i bought back in september. I dont really wear the gold chain much and have been thinking a lot lately and i rather have another Rolex. The chains worth about $4600 which would take a nice chunk out of the price of the Hulk! What do you guys think? Should i get rid of the gold chain and add the Hulk? I plan on keeping my collection to these two watches for quite awhile due to other expenses that are going to come up in the future. Thanks for any suggestions!

I would get rid of it, especially if you don't wear it. The Hulk is a beautiful watch!

If you do not wear chain, then conclusion is obvious - sell it and use funds for watch purchase. However, Hulk is a really special watch. If you really like it, then buy it and wear in good health. Also, make sure you try Hulk on your wrist first before buying as watch usually looks different on PC screen or leaflet and on wrist.

No brainer. Shift the chain and go for the LVc.

Sounds like it's a done deal! Congrats in advance.
The hard part will be getting what you want for the chain. From my limited experience it seems that pawn shops and the like only pay for the spot value of the gold, less 10 or 20%. So that $4600 may be hard to get.

If you are not wearing the chain I would flip it and use the funds for the purchase of the Hulk. I am a big fan of the Hulk and it holds it's value about as good as any Rolex. The exception being the Daytona which is crazy on pricing.

+1 on the Hulk - great add and you can always sell one in a heartbeat as well if you don't love it fully.

First you must accurately value that chain...
What kt is it? What does it weigh in grams? http://www.goldcalc.com/ An example would be a 57g 18k Chain with a Retail of $5k has a scrap value of $1721.00 |

Well I picked up a Hulk today so I'm clearly biased. I agree with the post above though, go to see the Hulk in real life as it's very green and changes character drastically in different lighting.

Hulk is a great addition. Under many lighting conditions, the dial looks black to a casual observer standing by. This on itself adds a lot of versatility to a watch that in most pictures and under light, looks green dialed. Given you get a good value for your chain, the switch is a no brainer.

Do it! My first was a DJII. Second was a BLNR. Third (about a month old now) was a Hulk.
