Ad just called . White daytona 16500 arrived.

Thinking of flipping it and picking up a vc. Tradionelle paris edition from nyc boutique. It's a limited edition. Around 22k. Thoughts?

Save you like 5k off the vc. Good luck selling if you change your mind on that one. Vc tough flip. I'd hold 100%

Just not a fan of buying knowing it'll be a flip unless the dealer is aware. But that's me.

I completely agree. Last year I bought an AD's last 116520, and I was clear to them before the sale that it was going to be part of a trade and they didn't care.

Helped that it was in the case for 6 months unsold, got it for tax off .

You have an opportunity for an easy $5K profit and subsequently getting something you may enjoy more. I think that $5K will vaporize if you ever want to flip the VC. Go with what you think will make you happiest.

I could see doing the deal but I would have to buy the VC with about 35-40% off retail as that is where you will be once you own it.

My thoughts? Sounds like you're thinking about it.

What are *your* thoughts? Pros / cons etc. etc.

Only you can decide. Which watch do you want to wear?

Get the Daytona, see if you like it... if not flip it. It's not like you're buying something that'll lose value so it can't hurt to have/try

There is a harsh reality to this...

If you trade into the VC, you need to be 1000% sure that is the watch for you and you will never need to sell it or trade it, because at this point that watch is not liquid in any reasonable way....

In other words, you will be stuck with it, so you better love it.

i'm not a fan of 'boutique' ed watches. an event or manufacture milestone significant, yes, but boutique or retailer, nope.

i wouldn't do it.

may not sell it to him if he knows he will sell the watch. I would think an AD would want to place the watch with someone who really wants the watch rather than a flipper. So I would keep mum if I planned to sell.
