Anyone come from Gold Sub to Day DAte Been unhappy with Fitment?

Just curious. I have really use my glidelock, to a tune of 5 clicks depending on heat and time of year, and am worried that the Day Date may not have enough adjustability for me...

Anyone have this issue or how have you managed?

Could be tough if you use the glidelock a lot. I know this is an issue for many, I seem to get away with it on my old DD2 and Nautilus which both have no adjustability.

I use my easy link in the summer time and the cooler seasons I don't. So when it's hot the DD40 is snug not too tight but a little too perfect. Below 80 degrees and I'm fine. So if you're a heavy glide lock user in various positions the DD40 may not be for you. They do sell a 1 and 1/4 link which may make all issues go away but it's more than a $1000 for just the one link.

if you use the micro adjuster ALOT then you probably wont like the president bracelet.

But how much can you change? The weather where I am goes from 5 degrees all the way to 35+ degrees celcius in summer. I never even use the micro adjuster on my sub.

Don't have a dd but I had some fitment issues when I got the super jubilee bracelet. When I had the bracelet sized to fit in the morning it got too tight by the middle of the day. The trick for me was to size it a little looser than I like when I first put it on in the morning so eventually it'll stick and fit well even after the wrist swells up.

You might have to do a bit of your own experimenting until you find a sweet spot.

I wear my watches loose and never have to touch the glidelock so the President bracelet is fine. I added two links to get my desired fit and even wearing it in August at Disney the watch fits fine.

If you truly adjust the glidelock a lot, your options are to go with the loosest setting that you like on the president at all times or get a different watch. Or I guess add and take links out with the seasons.

Love that Tapestry dial on your DD. I have a similar one on my DateJust, but it's the first time I see it on a President. Awesome.

I have the WG sub and also a DD2. I had to get a 1.25 link for the DD to get the correct fit. But I never adjust my Sub more than 1 click and I live in Texas where temps change pretty regularly.

I occasionally use the easy link on my other oyster bracelets when hot and my wrist expands but then it is a little looser than I prefer but still fits well.

Hold out, you may see a micro adjust on the dd president bracelet soon.

I have had the same problem with the DD's. I refuse to have so much money tied up in watches that do not fit as close to perfect as can be. I have owned Several DD II's and when I left I went with the Sky-Dwellers and a WG Submariner. The Glidelock Clasp is a work of art in my opinion and the Easy Link system comes in a close second. I do miss the look of the DD but not the fit.

I think this is doubtful. The President much like the Nautilus has a smooth sleek design that privileges form over function and I think that will stay. The DJ already had an oyster bracelet so the new clasp on the jubilee was not a huge change. I do think they should come with half links tho.

I know its a long shot. But someone showed the patent. Not sure why they cant send half link with the watch though....

OK...here's my thoughts.

The DD40 doesn't have near the adjustability of the sub with its glide lock clasp. This is true.

But...if you can get a good fit on the DD40, this is pretty much a non-issue. For me, I had to get a 1.25 link to get that fit, but it has been well worth it.

Sounds like it's not for you sam. There is no adjustments to be made on the fly.

Wouldn't really bother me but if you routinely use 5 notches on the glidelock you are certain to find yourself uncomfortable.
