Father wants president bracelet instead of oyster bracelet.

My father has a two-year old Rolex WG Day-Date on oyster bracelet that I gave him as gift but now he has expressed he may like a president bracelet. Is this a possibility i.e. would the Rolex service center exchange the bracelets or would the AD do this (I am not concerned about the price as it is for my father) or is this just not a possibility? Advise welcomed.

If you're not concerned about price they only go for ~$17K! Buy and enjoy.

Would be the best option even if he paid msrp. Or sell his privately.

It's not going to be cheap but I would ask my AD just to make sure before you buy.

Looks like dad has better taste than altruistic son, meant in the nicest possible way.
The President will transform the classic Roman dial to a dressier watch.

Traditionally RSC will sell you the correct bracelet for that watch (as long as it was originally offered on that model). Usually they offer a trade in price and an outright buy price.

I've heard recently that they've become more strict about outright buy, but either way it's definitely possible to get the presidential bracelet.

Bring the watch into RSC and see what they say.

Most likely they won't give him squat for the trade in. Still have to pay 15 thousand or so for a new president band.

Probably cheaper alternative; even used a wg president bracelet is expensive (saw one on Ebay at $10k)
