Next piece
I only have 1 timepiece currently, I used to buy and sell quite often.
I have a 114060 currently and I have my eye on the BLNR. My AD near me has one, I would typically go with DavidSW but he is out! However he has 1 other piece in which I want, the IWC Big Pilot Le Petit prince. Do you guys think I should go with a Big Pilot since it isn't very close to my 114060? I really can't decide, the BLNR or the Big Pilot. I won't be able to get a Ceramic Daytona for at least a year and a half, as I am not paying 5k over retail. Suggestions??? :) |

I would go with BLNR. Personally like it more than the IWC.

The Petit Prince Big Pilot is a beautiful (albeit very large) watch. If you like both equally, it would present a nice change of pace from the sub.

Yep. Don't worry about what might be too similar. Go with what strikes you most. Lots of owners with both Subs and GMTs.

If it's really 50-50, the IWC will pair really nicely with the Sub in a 2-piece collection.

I really love the look of many IWC's. But after owning some I've come to the conclusion that after the honeymoon, compared to my Rolex it loses a lot of the appeal. Unless you really really love the IWC id pick up the BLNR. You can't go wrong with he BLNR and in the event you do you can resell for what you paid im sure. The IWC will have a much worse resale if that means anything in your decision making process.

Just in the event I had to flip It I could probably get close to what I paid given it was used. We all know the BLNR will holds its value. :) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Not a fan of the BP, prefer the 3714s, so I'd choose BLNR if you are on the fence, lots more advantages.

I'm not IWC person that's why I would say BLNR and when you want to sell it you must be finding buyers more easily

I would go with the BLNR and there are listing by other Trusted Sellers where you can pick one up. The IWC, while a nice watch, would not hold the long term appeal of the BLNR for me. Not to mention value. Ask a few TS what the trade value of the IWC is and what the trade value of the BLNR is. If you loved the IWC then fine but you are looking at it because David does not have one. Go with the original thought and for #3 look at the IWC or paying for the Daytona.

I almost prefer IWC over Rolex these days. Mainly because most guys who wear a Rolex have never heard of IWC.
IWC makes some stunning watches, and I love their straps. Their bracelets have always been better than Rolex also, although Rolex has stepped up their game.

Hey ! OP, A fellow Long Beach, CA pal ! Life is good in ol' Long Beach.
I like the AD at South Coast Plaza, I may hang out there too much...its dangerous. Where do you go? I don't even know of another place, never cared to look. |

It is probably gone by now, but they will surface again. Still torn between the BP and BLNR. |

The big pilot doesn’t grab me - so, BLNR would be my choice between these two

Get the BLNR, the Big Pilot is just too big to wear it often.

Sounds like you want the BLNR. DavidSW might not have one today but I can’t see you having to wait too long if you ask him to get you one. If you don’t want to pay a $5k premium for a ceramic Daytona, I think you could be waiting quite a long time.
