Someone say Smurf ...?

A beautiful watch - have fondled this one a few times, love the colour and the weight. If only Rolex would offer a blue SS model...... *wistful sigh*

Cheers

Why the bashing? Well most of us really loved the old blue color. They "smurfed it up" badly with the new color. Hate it.

I'm still not sold on the super cases. the bracelets just don't look right on them.
I guess in a few years time when that is all there will be they might seem better.

I love the smurf sub, and if "stealth wealth" is a target, it's one of the highest watches on the list I can think of.

I have mixed feelings of the smurf.
the smurf really depends on lighting condition imo,
sometimes it looks great, other times it looks very cheap

This will never happen. If this happened no one would ever spend the extra money for the WG version. Think about it-an extra 20K for an almost visually identical watch? Albeit the weight and feel of wearing the WG watch would be completely evident. If I spent the money you'd bet I'd expect some kind of exclusivity which this watch currently provides.

On a different note, If you were to replace all the blue on this watch with black and brush the center links I believe this will be the new sub we're expecting this March at Basel.

Very true. If I saw this in the wild I have to say the guy wearing it would be one cool mofo.

If I won the lottery, the WG Submariner would be the watch I would want to get. Love it!

That new AR coating on the cyclops seems to work rather well. May need to pick up something with one some day

I was wondering if this pic was taken at the AD ?
Because i see the plastic on the bracelet wich i normally haven't seen before..
Can you tell me if there indeed is other plastic on the bracelet wich wasn't used before ?

Yes, that's a brand new Certamic Sub on the right and, in fact, that is the hand of the sales lady at my AD's!!

Some of the newer models (especially with GOLD on them) have more plastic than the steel ones.

Blue color looks cheap on this model.
Maxi case is terrible, especially with such a small bracelet.
Crown Guards are too blocky, they really don't protect the crown much either.
Even at $5,000 I would not buy one of these as the outgoing model is superior and much more classy. Perhaps a black dial and black ceramic bezel insert will change my mind. But for now I am just not feeling it.

Love the smurf. And I don't think calling it a smurf is bashing it.

I have a rule. Rolex knows best, so whatever reason they had to do what they did, they must be right. Obviously there is an exception to everything rule, ice/leopard being it LOL

I tried on a new Bluesy at my local Rolex AD last week. It is a beautiful watch. Unfortunately, I only had enough cash to get my 5513 serviced.

Best looking of the new-case Subs imo. Would love one. Don't love the £20K price though i'm afraid.
