I love blue dial watches! These two shades are wonderful as are the Milgauss, DJ2 and Platona shades of blue. The only blue dial watch I currently have is a Tag Heuer Aquaracer. It's quite fine but I'm saving for a blue dial Rolex and hoping to make it happen this year. To quote Wayne's World.."it WILL be mine!" It's a blue world!

I assure you whatever rumor you heard about a stainless steel Submariner coming with a blue bezel and dial is inaccurate. That would be the same as them releasing the stainless steel Daytona with the white gold dial options and red hands or the current pepsi GMT IIc being released in stainless steel.

MY OPINION: If you ever want a blue dial and blue bezel on a stainless steel submariner, you are going to have to be ok with it having yellow gold bits on it as well or source both the bezel insert and dial from that particular reference which I have never seen before and special tools are needed to replace the ceramic bezel insert without breaking it. My opinion is based on the fact that Rolex does not have much history of releasing precious metal dial/bezel combinations on stainless steel watches.

FACT: Rolex does not share information on upcoming references/model changes before Basel so just like my post above, whatever you heard was nothing more than speculation, rumors, and/or opinions. We will not know what Rolex has in store for later this year before 3/19/15. PERIOD. If what you heard winds up being true, it is because the person who told you had a lucky guess, not because they had privileged information.

Damn it.....I always do that. I never check the date of the first post in the thread. Either way my point was even further driven home by the age of the thread and the lack of a stainless steel smurf 5 years after the rumor.

I'm only laughing because I've done it too. Makes you feel a little silly doesn't it?

To be honest I don't think I've ever read a negative thing/comment about the WG Sub. In fact I've always viewed it as one of the most sought after modern day sports Rolexes... just out of reach for most of us

I've read a TON of negative things about the smurf. Most of those comments are "why spend that much money on something that looks like steel?" and "the only people who buy white gold are those who can't afford platinum." I don't agree with either which is why I own one. I just don't like the extra flash of all yellow gold. It's just my personal preference AND my money. I worked hard for it and will spend it any way I want and highly encourage everyone else to do the same.

Those are some fairly shallow comments, maybe I just block them out :) In my opinion, it's the total opposite. Although I like yellow gold as well, part of the beauty of WG is the fact that it is under the radar, and mistaken by steel by the average joe. But the person wearing it, can obviously feel the weight and knows what it is and that's all that matters. Not to the mention the blue is awesome as well. Enjoy yours, it's incredible!! Wish I had one!

1. Because I love the weight and feel of gold, the different dial combinations, and yellow gold doesn't look good on me.

2. I'm scratching my head trying to makes sense of "the people who buy gold do so because they just can't afford platinum" comment. Although that may be true as the platinum Day Date and Daytona are about double the gold references, I don't see the logic. I wonder what those same people say about others who buy the stainless steel models.

For about $30,000 less I scratched the itch with this one, and it's really a fine watch in it's own right with the Soprod A10 movement and ceramic bezel.

It's funny to see people giving advice to a six-year-old poster, though.
