I'm new here..

Hi folks.

Just thought I'd say hello and share my little story. I recently decided I needed a good solid watch. Nicest thing I wore in the past was a small Gucci basic model. I also have this bad habit of tossing my watches into a drawer once the battery dies never to be worn again (same with a worn leather band, whichever comes first). I was also given a fake Daytona many years ago by some family member visiting from overseas, seemed pretty cool, heavy, but I never wore it because it was fake of course.

I decided to try it on for a week (need a watch, any watch!) and got chewed out by an uncle of mine who sells used watches wholesale. We got to talking and I actually decided to see if anything was affordable. It took about an hour to narrow it down to a sub or a gmt2..

At any rate, the price is still above what I want to spend on a watch but he convinced me to invest some money into a few watches, since I was looking to invest in something for 1-2 years. He picked up a dozen or so, and I took a few off his hands. Snapped some pics for you guys of course.

I have to say, I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do. So far I'm loving the GMT2c, but will see how I feel after rotating them. The Daytona is probably too expensive for me to consider, but it's beautiful.

I just wanted to share my introduction to Rolex's with you guys, I've spent the last week reading the forums every night (even got through Chris' whole thread) and I'm enjoying learning from the wealth of knowledge you guys have. :)

Congrats. I have the same watch (the gmt) and I love it. The best Rolex IMO. Wear it well and welcome to TRF.

Stay away from this forum! The site contains a very toxic virus called Rolex which can slowly eat away your bank balance before you know it.

Just kidding. Welcome!

Welcome to the slippery slope of too many desires and never enough money.

Good luck.

That's a great collection you have there. Wow. Sure covers all the bases for the sport models IMHO!
