Used president band, did I get screwed?
I bought a used solid 18k 'Italian' president band from a forum member for my 1803 and he assured me it was in good condition and one of the nicest he has ever come across (as far as replicas go).
I got it today and aside from it having more stretch than the pictures I recieved showed it has a link that has completely worn through on the end and many that are starting to do the same. It looks like it is hollow! Is this something common on these bracelets or did I get lied to? I've paid theough PayPal with a note that specifies that I can return for any reason as well as specifically what I was told I was getting (or expected to get). Any thoughts are appreciated. |

Looks like it has been polished. But I guess not if it is a replica, it is probably plated.

I would contact the seller and return the bracelet. The older, original Day Date bracelets did not have solid links.

It was an ok deal, not less than half what a new one would cost.
I've tried to contact the seller and no response which is odd given that he has 7,000+ posts on here. Going to give it 24 hours before determining that it was malicious and filing a PayPal claim. |

I'm going to wait until it has been 24 hours since trying to contact him.
I don't want to throw him under the bus if he is traveling, lost his phone, etc. After 24hrs I feel it'll be safe to say that he isn't going to try and make it right Thank you all for the insight. I wasn't sure about this one and my searches didn't turn up much! |

24 hours? It's nearly the weekend, leave it until Tuesday evening at least, some people have lives away from the forums.

X 2.... Give the person a chance. You have plenty of time for a paypal claim.

I have his cell number and we had been texting.
I'm sure it'll work out. I wanted to find info on the bracelet to see if I should even be upset, I don't know anything about the construction of gold bands. I'll update it once something happens. |

Comical thread mate. Unhappy with your replica bracelet? ...!?!
So we can discuss replicas and homage items now?

It looks like it has a rolex emblem on the top side of the link near the band. It could have been that the seller reached out via a WTB ad and it was never actually offered publicly via the forum. If it's an aftermarket band and has a rolex emblem/markings...then it's a replica band. Feel bad for the buyer. I wonder what kind of pictures were asked for/received...it seems pretty obvious in that blurry picture that the band is worn down. Hope it gets resolved.
