Enjoy a brewski with your Rolex Bluski.

Those liking the "Blue Steel" reference, wouldn't it make more sense that the watch be called Zoolander then?

as in

Why is Blue Skydweller called Zoolander?

Because of its "Blue Steel" look.

What's the difference between modern nicknames and, Pepsi, Coke, root beer, president, Paul Neumann, Steven McQueen, nipple dial, fat lady, skinny lady, etc. did the generation before "this new generation" not use nicknames?

IMO naming a watch after a beverage that's basically bottled poison is a lot worse than naming it after a superhero. But then again, why let it bother you either way?

Don't pay any attention. If someone's life is so small that they feel the need to puff themselves up and get indignant about giving a watch model a moniker, just pity them and let them be. Don't let them suck the life out of something fun. I still like Capt. America!

Although I generally loath nicknames, I can get on board with Blue Steel if it is always referred to as: "Blue Steel, it's so hot right now." And then every time someone does a "Blue Skydweller versus whatever" thread, we get Billy Zane to declare "it's a watch-off!"

I love nicknames.

Call it BSD.

(Which, after a google search, apparently also stands for "Big Swinging Di@#" in urban dictionary... making it all the more relevant.)

I find nicknames a bit daft but it doesn't grind my gears... if the consensus ends up as "Blue Steel" for moniker lovers, then the detractor faction can shorten it to "BS" and everyone can be happy :)

I agree. The nickname thing is ridiculous. Especially the "batman" and "bruiser" and superhero inanity. And it's not even more convenient than typing the four simple letters "b," "l," "n," "r."

Might as well call the watch a "Rollie" while you're at it.

Simply "Zoolander" would be hilarious too. Love either.

Nicknames sound idiotic but my opinions will deter no one. I can't wait for the thread where someone is insulted because someone else mistakes their Sky Dweller for a Datejust and offends their refined taste and wealth. Maybe this forum has jumped the shark. Some days I'm convinced it has.

Fun for a few seconds but ultimately no point, Batman did not catch on here, BLNR is the standard, and Blue/black/white SS SkyD will be used for this.

I'm going to call it "Overpriced." There, not a better name for this watch unless you want to call by two names and then it would be "Way Overpriced."
