Crown question

Hi, I was wondering something regarding the twin lock crown on my watch. I had heard in several different threads that people like to turn it counter clockwise a bit when screwing it back in. I tried this and I noticed that after turning it clockwise a bit, it took a second for the crown to "pop" back out to the winding position. It kinda just spun for a second before it clicked out. Is this normal? It seemed to screw back in normally. Thanks!

Note: I didn't screw it back down after turning counter clockwise, I only did that to see if the thread catch felt more secure than when I do it the other way.

That seems normal to me.

After unscrewing the crown there are gears that have to align to allow the crown to move to the winding position and vice versa when pushing it in.
The same thing can happen when you move the crown to the date and time change position.
You may need to rotate the crown a little in both directions as you pull it out.

Normal on multiple pieces I have had. It pops out after rotating a bit after unscrewing. Perhaps as watch is worn-in it may not be so, but for new watch, it is testament to the ultra tight tolerances and consideration for machine service life IMO.
