Icon5 Tudor Pelagos thoughts?

What are everyone's thoughts on the blue pelagos with the Tudor in house movement. Nice watch that seems to fly under the radar. I know some non watch guys with rolexs who have no idea who or what Tudor is.

Personally I love mine. Could have went for the blue dial but thought it was just to beach and casual.

Does Tudor hold their value like Rolex?

That's hard to say; it depends more on how it was obtained. Most Rolexes or Tudors bought at MSRP will take a big hit out of the gate. Buying gently used is your best bet for retaining value. The Pelagos is a nice dive watch however.

Really liked mine. Some very nice design touches: chamfers, pointed crown guards, lume numbers on the insert, nice matte looking finish. Only reason I moved it was the thickness/height. Just never got use to it. Worn too many 4 and 5 digits over the years with thin cases.

Which is about 30%? Pretty similar to most Rolex.

While I absolutely love my tudor BB I never really warmed up to the Pelagos. I really do like the look and design, but in the hand it felt cheap to me. Perhaps it's the light weight and cool feel of the titanium, im not sure. All at once I was looking at omegas, the tudor BB and Pelagos. I found the BB to be superior in all regards, then the omegas (SMP line) then the Pelagos.

I love the Pelagos, but I have to say the pics of the blue look better online. In person the blue looks at little too matte for my preference. I would be interested in the black, but I already have a sub c.
I've also heard the rubber strap isn't very comfortable.

From a personal view point have kept mine on the rubber and never found it uncomfortable.

Of course it's all about personal choice but the Pelagos is one of my favourites. The Titanium does give a matt appearance to the whole watch and is very scratch resistant, it is light in weight so easy to wear and has great dial and insert lume. It is also equally comfortable on the adjustable bracelet or rubber strap and great value for money.

I like how the left hand version has the roulette dial wish the right had that option.

My boss has a blue Pelagos and loves it. They seem to hold their value roughly as well as any Rolex model, but the big knock against them is size. 42mm and a pretty thick case is a turn off for some. If it's comfortable on you, then it's a great watch!

My Pelagos Blue get the most wrist time of my collection. If you can handle the size, its very comfortable on the wrist ..no to mention not to mention, it is more accurate than any other mechanical watch I have ever owned.

Quite comfortable but I just didn't warm up to it. I know part of the coolness of the Pelagos is how matte and unflashy it is, but I guess I prefer a little wow factor with my watches. Never bonded with it like I did my Black Bay.

That's not 30%... Tudor goes for 30% off everywhere... you have to go to TRF to get anything resembling a discount for a Rolex. I see a bunch of BNIB at $6400 and used at $6100

Without trying I already found pelagos for 48% off....

Short answers THEY DO NOT hold value like Rolex

I said most Rolex. Preowned subc's sell all the time for 6k-6.5k. Which is a little under 30% off retail. Used Datejust's and explorer 2 sell right around 30% off if not more.
And no, I am not talking about Daytonas.

But we're not talking about the whole range, just a professional diver hence you need to compare to a professional diver...

Or do you compare a kids strength to a grown man's strength??

???? So your issue is with literally a couple of %? I ballparked the 30% to begin with based on what he said. Bottom line is that the price drop on the resale market is similar (not identical).

Why you say that Mike? Do you believe that the ETA is a more accurate movement?
