"4 month wait list, but it hasn't been allocated yet so you can have it" sounds like a way to make sure you'll pay msrp, but hey, at least you got a great piece that doesn't really get a discount anyway. Enjoy!

Thanks! I didn't mention though that I have a guy who, in the past, has connected me with different Rolex AD across the country to find me the best deal. He usually comes through with big discounts but even he said at this time the best he can do was a bump to front of the line (a couple of weeks vs. 4 months) at list price. So I had no issue paying MSRP especially considering that if I balked at the store, it would've gone to the next person instantly.

On another note, the same guy was able to find me a Steel Daytona C with black dial within an hour of me asking....for $22,500. Told him to give me a night to think about it...two hours later it was sold for that amount. The search continues....lol.

Congratulations on your new purchase.

I found myself in an almost identical situation. I'd intended buying a SDc 4000. Got mine on Wednesday.

Huge congratulations! It's a sublime watch. Enjoy it in the best of health. Seems like Canada is similar to England beyond just culture but in Rolex scarcity as well.

I always like these "incomings" for the BLNR. Arguably my favorite Rolex watch to wear. It just looks better in person. BTW here in Miami they are available widely with no discount. So retail plus tax around $9523. I bought mine April 2017. Pre owned for 1 month. Warranty card dated 3/2017. I swear when I received the watch from the seller here I could've sworn that watch was new. Glad I saved a bunch. Enjoy it in good health.

Nice Score,

Maybe I am missing something, but how can a store have a wait list, only get one in, but then sell that one to someone not on the list, simply because the watch wasnt "allocated"

If i had a wait list of 4, and 1 watch came in, the first person on that list would get the item.

Doesn't make much sense to me either. But congrats to him for being "lucky" and getting what he wanted.

Thanks! I'm with you on this one but I wasn't about to ask too much in the moment...wisely kept my mouth shut. Lol. I'll ask another day (say when it's my turn to be on the wait list...lol). I just chalk it up to dumb luck and catching an associate in a good mood. Actually the story gets better as someone came in 5 minutes after I paid, asking for a Batman also. HE could've been the lucky shmuck of the day, and not me.

Still need to buy that lottery ticket.........
