Maxi Dial and Case Question

Can someone please explain the maxi dial on the subs and gmts?

The sub I purchased in 2005 obviously did not have the maxi and the one I purchased this year does. Was the maxi dial ever done previously to this newest version of Subc and Gmtc? Thank you for any input

Larger indices
Older subs without applied indices were also larger I believe..
If I'm wrong I will stand corrected as I'm far from expert

The Submariner maxi dial comes in 2003 but only on the LV model. So a black one from 2005 should have non maxi dial.

Thank you Jocke! So did any of the vintage Subs have a maxi dial or just starting in 2003 on the LV?

Thank you again for input......

Some vintage Subs had a maxi dial but without White gold surrounds. Quite rare now.

The original Submariner maxidial was at 5513 but that is not the same as the current one that was released in 2003.

The first modern maxidial was at The 40mm SS/Platinum Yachtmaster made in 1998.
