Thank you! LOL Yep, another one to NOT let me down!! Hahahaha! Quote:
I've never even tried an FX, but a few of my photography friends (Also enablers) tell me that i will love it and it's justified and that i deserve it. LOL, see the pattern there? Quote:
Yes, my husband gifted me last year with a Laguna Seca two day trip. He kept asking "if there is one track you would want to ride..." but it never crossed my mind that he had a plan. I had an absolute blast. Posted some pics in Mr. Ruud's F1 commute thread. Loved it. Unfortunately, we had to retire this year. My husband got hurt pretty seriously. He lowsided and while sliding, got hit in the neck and head. He will make a full recovery, but it's a long process. Be safe and ALWAYS wear the best gear you can afford!! I mean, i gave up on having a Rolex or two or three, so i can enjoy this sport and not try to cheap out on tires or gear. You are so right!! Life is short. I always say it! Thank you!!! Hahahahahaha!!!! Thank you!

I haven't read all the posts, so if this was mentioned already I'm sorry. Type in your google search Kardashian and Rolex. You will see tons of images of the girls wearing watches from subs, presidential, and even the all gold Daytona. Tell your husband I'm sorry, because after you see these pics it will probably seal the deal.

I'm not normally a fan of big watches on women. I see it here all the time; tiny girls barely 5' tall with spaghetti for arms and wearing huge Rolex, Panerai, AP, etc. divers. I'm not judging but it's not a good look to see someone wearing a watch bigger than their head. But hey, as long as they're happy then that's all that matters.
As for you young lady, that Sub does look pretty damn good on you

Thank you again, Enablers!!
I stopped by my AD on the way home. They had a Sub in stock and i tried that one on as well. All shiny (with stickers lol) They sent me home with a book. My plan is to try to put the thought aside. I said TRY. I know it's probably not going to happen, but i'll try. If that doesn't work out by tomorrow (LOL) i'll start figuring out what i want. I'm a funny girl. Maybe i'll try for a few days. :) Thank you also for being a bunch of people who understand, and people who are also looking for that secret grey market pill that's going to make the addiction go away. I know you understand me!!! I work hard and I work a lot. And a reward is justified. Not sure i can justify two luxury watches in a short time frame, but I'm logical and I will find a way to reason it. :) And the current jackpot is $100M+, if i remember to play!!

This PROOVES "fashion" is a bunch of nonsense. Every man loves to see their women in "guy" clothes, watches, AND a gun at their waist. Why? A good man loves a strong womam. We all like to see woman all decked out and lady-like. But that doesn't mean we dont like other looks.
You rock that watch. No reason a nice Cellini wouldn't lay nicely there also. |

But i'll look :) Quote:
That was kind of my reasoning too, Paul. it usually looks like it's a borrowed watch (dad's, bf's, husband's). I don't want that. Never wanted that. hell, i even had a hard time deciding on the 37mm. Then someone posted a picture and it didn't look like a dad's watch. i'm a big girl too. 5'9"+ but i think my wrists are pretty small for my size, thus i never bothered trying. maybe as i'm now used to the look of 37mm, it didn't look out of place when i tried it on today. If i didn't like it, it would have been an easy thing to forget... I'm sure i'll go back to thinking it's too big tomorrow, just like with the YM.

Outdoorswoman Rolex wearer, would love to contribute to the conversation!
Having just taken delivery today of my first "big" Rolex (for me) after wearing women's sizes for the better part of the last 40 years, while hunting, fishing, making deals, having fun, sleeping, showering, whatever, whatever, a Rolex has never been far from my wrist since I was a sophomore at The University of Texas a long time ago.
I've had many, many Rolexes, to include the one I used to entice an attacker away from me in the early 1990s, and who took the watch and finally left me alone. I can't give Rolex credit for saving my life, but I can confidently say that if I'd told him I had an Omega, I suspect he would not have cared and I might not be here to tell the tale. A Rolex was also on my wrist as I went through and completed chemotherapy almost five years ago for a rare form of female reproductive cancer, a cancer which has blessedly not returned. I have to say that once again, while Rolex did not save my life, on some level looking down at that watch while sitting in the infusion chair fortified my sense of who I am, and instilled in me a survivor instinct I might otherwise not had TO THAT DEGREE. Over the years, I've always coveted a large Rolex, and I seriously envy the woman whose wrist can handle a Sub or something along those lines; alas, my wrist - the diameter of a third-grader's - can only sport a 36mm at most. So - as of today, I've just begun wearing a 36mm DJ and I am a happy camper! As a professional wildlife/nature photographer, I am happy to share an image of my new watch today, with my signature Nikon rig - the new 500mm f/4 FL lens - an instrument to photography as Rolex is to time pieces - on a Nikon D810. The other images are of me with my 29mm Yacht-master, a watch that was with me every moment of a five-month wildlife photo competition earlier this year where I spent an enormous amount of time chasing baby alligators, water moccasins, other snakes, deer, coyotes, bobcats, dragonflies, wading birds, and dozens of other species. This watch is going on the market soon and whoever gets it will have a watch that can tell many tales, in addition to time! I am a competitive and award-winning photographer, and a Rolex is right there along with me, every step of the way. AS it should be! I encourage ladies to use a Rolex time piece as a means of self-expression, and I celebrate and compliment the OP, who wishes to adorn her wrist and life with a new Rolex. As a cancer survivor, I can't help but promote an agenda that involves fulfilling one's wishes, and along the way, helping others fulfill theirs as well. |

First of all, Congratulations that the cancer is staying away. I hope it stays away for good. Hits close to home. You probably didn't come across my intro post https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=554605, that ladies yachtmaster on your wrist, was my personal goal and inspiration for 15+ years. It is wonderful and until a month ago, when i rewarded myself with a 37mm yacht-master, i wouldn't have dreamed of wearing a "big" watch. Congratulations on your 36 DJ. It looks great on you and I truly hope you get to wear it in great health for many many many years to come. You've said it all so well. Your post tells me you have a strong will, and you achieve your goals. You've followed your dream WITH a Rolex on your wrist. I would love to see your photos. A truly great, inspirational post. Thank you, ChickoftheSea. My Best to you! Tea

The gf gives me the side-eye when she catches me snapping candid pics of her. Then I tell her the pics are going to a male-dominated watch forum, at which point I get the full-on glare! Lol. I'm dying to see how she reacts when she finds out that her likeness has inspired the watch tastes of an actual TRF female. Will inform her later and post results! |

Women have an unfair advantage when they buy a surprise watch - just walk in in new lingerie and the Sea Dweller and tell him you bought something for you and something for him. It's a win win!
