I’m a huge Patek fan. Own several pieces myself but the 5522 to seems like a hyped up watch. We all have to agree it’s simple and nothing to it at all. To me it’s a brilliant way for Patek to hype up a need by limiting production and releasing them in the US exclusively. Authorized dealers are using this Watch to tell you how lucky you are to get one knowing in the future you will be obligated to buy a big price watch from them where they profit much more from. The 5524 is much nicer in my opinion. Best decision is to sell now while you can double your money..

Appreciate the opinion but dont agree. 5524 is a fantastic watch. but if you dont like the 5522, best to start your own thread or not comment at all. As you can see there are plenty of fans of the reference here.

Well then you should go buy a 5524 and post some pics for us to see it. Personally I don't like the 5524, much to busy and the dial is cluttered. The 5522 has a clean dial, and classic Pilot watch look. As for the watches value, IMHO the time to buy is now. Once these fall into the hands if the PP collectors these watches will be seen only at auctions in the future, and commanding a 6 figure price.

Thought this was a forum of opinion. Should be some positive as well as some negative. This is the best way for a person researching a specific watch to get the best impartial advice. Don’t think I ever seen a non complication Patek fetching 6 figures.

I always forget the date. If you post beware of criticism, it's part of the game.

Post some pics of your 5524 so we can share our opinions.

None of us here are saying its a 6 figure watch. What happens on the secondary market is irrelevant. whether the watch actually sells for the crazy ask prices has nothing to do with watch that I paid 22k for.

You talk about the 5524- yes I love that piece as well and am expecting it in the next few months- but for that, we are approaching 50k. Much more expensive than the 5522.

So look at the 5522 for what it is - an entry level piece for Patek enthusiasts.

You have the typical trolls here on the forum (not you) that seem to find fault in everything patek. Why they waste their time here is beyond me- but this is a Patek enthusiasts section.

If someone was to offer me 6 figures for the 5522- id sell it in a heart beat. The reality is that likely the realistic price that these are trading for is in the 40k range and I have zero interest to sell the piece for a nominal mark up.

While I don't think any of our opinions are enhanced by what we own, as you can see below I have a horse in the race. With that in mind Javier your "opinion" was a deliberate attempt to lessen the OPs enthusiasm for his delivery. Simply put, that's just a crappy thing to do. He didn't solicit opinion but instead was nice enough to share photos of a highly anticipated piece.

The face of my PP is in fact way to cluttered

Now to the greater issue at hand, once again CONGRATULATIONS! A piece that in my opinion is perfect in many ways! Enjoy it and know that many of us who own a modest collection are extremely jealous.
