I just traded YG TT DJ41 slate Roman jub, for blue stick, fluted oyster.
I couldn’t bond with it, wasn’t real happy with the micro adjust clasp on the jubilee, would of preferred hidden clasp

Never liked TT. Saw a TT Daytona with black face In person. I fell in love instantly and had to buy it. I think it looks gorgeous and I’ve gotten compliments on it vs my sub date which gets 0 attention (which is great too).

I purchased the TT Daytona at 29 and was not a reader of the forums so I just went with what I liked. I’m happy with it and will never sell it, God willing.

Buy what you love. Plus getting the TT Daytona at a bargain price vs Full SS is a nice bonus in my opinion.

I feel that TT is making a comeback and desirability will climb as the cycle of trends and fashion continues on. I think getting one now at the right price may be a good move before the prices get jacked up. Maybe not but I love the TT either way.

Yellow gold can be seen as a bit cliche.
I think the younger generations don’t like the yellow gold look.

While I love YG the TT depends on the watch.

I own a TT white face SkyDweller. Not a loved watch here, but to my every it is the best looking Skydweller.

The TT GMT is ok. Past that I would prefer YG or Platinum 95% of the time. The other 5%, Pepsi. The Pepsi is the only SS watch that I really like. I am not a big white gold or SS fan.

I’m going to step out and say that I don’t think they are less ‘popular’ at all — only when threads pop up framing it that way - we tend to see how many out there don’t care for them. Hardly a statistical cross-section of watch enthusiasts and owners.

I think that some shy away from them due to some of the aforementioned reasons — they are definitely ‘flashier’ — as is ANYTHING with gold (yellow especially) — is that bad? Of course not — just hit everyone’s cup of tea.

A blue dial TT Sub is one of my favorite all time references - for me — just better in a rotation. I like YG — at times — but my preference has always been ‘white’ metals.

But...having said all that — I think the TT ‘desire’ is on the rise.

One of my FAVORITES is the 5980 blue dial TT. It’s a gorgeous reference - to me thats quite under rated.

Can’t remeber if I’ve posted in this thread or not, but TT makes for a beautiful watch.
I think it’s fair to say the ‘80’s ‘car dealer’ stigma they once had has well and truly gone, and that stigma itself is short lived.
TT has made a huge comeback with some really classy designs in the last few years...just look at the CHNR or some of the TT rose gold DJ’s that are now for sale. Beautiful watches.
In fact, as I type this I’m wearing my dad’s 1972 1601 DJ. Pink gold bezel, jubilee and sunburst dial.....beautiful.

TT DateJust Roman

I was blessed to inherit a TT DateJust Roman Numerals(late 2000's) from a dear friend who was in his late 60's, and at first I was a little apprehensive about wearing such a flashy watch. But when I put on a suit or a nice dress shirt and slacks with this beauty, I feel like a million bucks! Something about that brilliant luster that you just don't get with SS, really pops.

Photos really don't do it justice. But I'll attach some anyway. I don't think I could pull off a solid YG one, just a little over the top for my taste. The TT is a nice in the middle piece that gives you that flash of elegance.(not that I could afford a solid gold one anyway!)

Although, with this one the sentimental value outweighs everything. I would never part with it.

My first TT watch.. I can safely say I doubt it’ll be my last... I love the contrast between the 2 metals.

To me it's the "flashiness". I find it a bit too much.

In your opinion why are TT less popular

So many people still discussing this since May of this year, so I will add a gratuitous wristshot, ya know, because I can

My opinion (post #113) on the OP’s original question hasn’t changed but having another Bluesy just makes you sort of happy.

I think that TT watches are nice looking.

I think people in their 20's and 30's lean more towards the SS.

Not that there is any criteria for how old you should be, but I think more older people wear them than younger.

However, I was wearing a TT Datejust champagne fluted when I was young, but that was what was in style back in the '80's.

Regardless of what anyone says, wear what you love.

Fashion, in the 80's it was fashionable the TT, so much that the watchmakers transformed the SS rolex in TT to resell them better.

I think any tt Rolex looks great! I do like SS as well and I have both types in my collection. If You buy a tt Rolex at the AD, then you are an enthusiast. Most of us are enthusiasts here. A small number in here are flippers and I have to be honest... I do not like flippers. If you are a flipper, please don’t response with any altruistic justifications for why you flip watches.....oops I went off on a tangent.
