I have 2 daughter's, one son-in-law. Recently gave my 16013 to the oldest, her grandfather gave it to me in 1989. My mom just gave her rolex to my youngest daughter, her youngest grandchild. Gave my son-in-law my Shinola "sub" so everyone should be happy for now! If I depart this planet sooner than I expect, they'll figure out what to do with my collection. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy wearing them!

I have three watches and three grandsons. The oldest is 16 and refuses to wear any watch (the younger twins are 8). I may ask someone to hold them until they reach their 25th birthdays but I strongly suspect, when they see their value, they will be pawned or sold. Unfortunately, my daughter's personal situation is not great.

I purchased a GMT LN for my daughter which also has her birth date on the warranty card (nice touch from my AD) which she will be given when she turns 21/graduates from uni should she wish to do so.

She will actually own all of them at done point in the future, but the LN will be the most sentimental

I have two daughters and plan on passing on my watches to them (assuming they will wear them of course).

Whenever we get these I think they would be great candidates.

If they want to wear my blnr, sub, or 39mm exp1 I think those are great watches to pass down as well.

Which watch are you planning to pass down to your daughter(s)? If you already gave your daughter your watch I'd love to hear about it too.

*Just thought I change up the conversation here a bit from the usual incoming, my AD said this, should i buy this watch, is this an investment, etc. etc.*

I’m in a similar position as I have 3 girls. I tell them all the time that they will get my watches. It’s funny because they seem to pick the watches by the birth order they were purchased in.

Not to be morbid, but when I pass, I don’t think I care if they wear the watches. What I care about is that they have an item that they know was something I valued that they will remember me by when I’m not here.

I was planning to gifting my Daytona to my son when he gets married. My 2 daughters will each get a GMT... The test of my collections, they can split that up how they see fit.

2 daughters and 2 Rolex - suspect they will sell them as soon as they get them to reduce mortgage payments, can't blame them and hope they do !

Have 2 sons and have already started giving them my collection.
Every year on their Birthdays or a special occasion I give them 1 each .
Prefer to see them wearing it and enjoy them as much as I do.
The elder son wears them with joy and pride the younger chap wears a smart watch all the time and gives them back to me for safe keeping ! He is an idiot !

I have a 6 month old daughter, she wouldn't appreciate a piece just yet, but I shall certainly be gifting one of mine in 16/18 years time.

All my watches will go to the kids which is nice because all my daddy left me was an old guitar and an empty bottle of booze, lol.

We only have one daughter so she will eventually get the lot I guess. When she was born though I bought my first Rolex - a Hulk which I probably wear the most to be honest. I would want to give this to her when she is 18/21 or finished University - whichever feels right at the time. For now though she is rocking a G Shock.

I have 5 daughters and 10 watches.
I have already allocated 2 to each. They got to pic one favourite each and then I allocated the second for each based on value - I tried to square up the overall value of both pieces for each daughter.

I’ve told them that they can if they choose to sell one when they get married to help pay for wedding expenses etc. but I’ve asked that they keep at least one to pass into their own kids.

At the rate I am collecting watches, they will probably end up with 3-4 each as well as one each from my wife’s collection. She has 3 at the moment. As of Tuesday she will have another one. But she didn’t know it yet

This is exactly what I wanted to do for my kids….there just wasn’t inventory!!

I’m giving my daughter my 5 digit Pepsi and my son my recently acquired ceramic Pepsi on their respective wedding days. The rest of the collection will be theirs to split when I’m gone.

Im going to engrave them just like you did!

Love the pics!

That sounded like the lyrics from the Temptations "Papa was a Rolling Stone."
