Daytona SS Ceramic: White vs Black

Hey Guys

Pulling the trigger on either white or black face Daytona but can only get one.

ETA 7 days, really difficult choice, chime in at your convenience.

Thank you

ps. I like both, have been offered today but have never seen any in realtime so yet to try them on. 51% lean towards black, think it looks slightly classier than Pandas.

If you can try them both on do so, and don't just wear them under the bright lights at the AD / shop, take them outside or into more natural lighting than the shop and buy whichever you prefer.

If you cant try them on, spend some time on Youtube watching high resolution content, preferably some side to side comparisons.

Good luck!

One of the most difficult decisions in the Rolex line. I'm almost willing to just flip a coin and never look back. I feel like if I get the white, I'll always think I should have got the black and vice versa.
My decision is finally white....why, because there aren't too many other options for a white dial watch I would want and none with such a beautiful symmetrical dial layout, while on the other hand, almost every other Rolex I want or have has a black dial. You could get a white Daytona and a black Ed White 321 for example. There are so many nice blue and green dials now too with Patek and AP as well, but not many white options out there.
For this reason, I choose white.

I truly think the black looks better and IMO the white is actually pretty underwhelming in person.

Go somewhere where they can put them side by side for you. I was in the white dial camp for a very long time but started looking more into the black. I agree that the white dial is pretty special but in the end seeing them side by side I thought the black was more visually coherent. Also totally agree with the black dial Rolex overload, but still as a stand alone watch not considering any collection you may or may not have, I think black is nicer looking.

I owned White before. It was awesome and the contrast made the watch stunning.

I had the choice of both and purchased the black ; the white looks better in photos but in real life I found the black nicer..

asthestically black dial is better, but white dial is more legible. I prefer black dial.

That’s a great shout - 321 and white 116500. I’ve got the Ed white, now to find a white Daytona!

Either way OP, you can’t go wrong. If you are getting at retail, you’ve done very well. Congrats in advance.

If I had those, I don’t think I’d wear or need another watch! Awesome

View them both in person and decide, that's always the best.

Grey market prices have white dial at a significant premium, and (as much as I'll hate myself for saying this) I have to agree with that. I think the white dial is simply stunning and materially better than black dial. Just my humble opinion.

If you wish people see you wearing a Daytona, go for white.
To me black dial stays at 'stealh' lane and therefore better for daily use.
I have both, black is for business/office, white is for the weekend.

I have so many black dial watches that the white would be the one, if only one.

Black is cool however it depends what else you have in your collection
Since I had a sub I sold it and went with white

Truth be told, cant go wrong with either

Black looks serious
White looks a bit more playful

In a sea of black Rolex dials, I’d go white

Daytona SS Ceramic: White vs Black

I prefer the white one, the combination with the black cerachrom is awesome.

White for legibility and more contrast

I was given the choice while I was waiting for mine in 2016 and I waited longer for the white dial…I think the black dial version is equally beautiful but no question the white dial has been and continues to be more in demand…

In my opinion white Daytona looks better on women and black Daytona looks better on men

Typical first world issue - can’t even make a decision on black or white merely on just a watch.
Man is buying is on hot demand, what other people like, Rolex brand, rarity, discontinuation and resale/investment value

It depends on what else is in your collection. Rolex offers more iconic black dial watches compared to white. Choose white for variety if your collection is more black centric.
I chose white because it is more legible to me. Ultimately choose what’s best for you when you see it in person. Enjoy it!
