Anyone help with a couple of questions about the 16613...?
Hello,
I was looking at a Two Tone Black face Submariner 16613 for sale recently. It has a P serial #, which I believe to be circa 2000. It has lug holes. What year did Rolex start making the case with no Lug Holes?? When did the Gold thru the clasp, start?? This watch would NOT have a Laser Etched crown on the crystal, Correct? Thanks Very Much In Advance, for the input!! Bodie Last edited by Bodie; 27 June 2007 at 07:24 AM.. |

No 16613 prior to 2000, had any of the things you mentioned in your post.

P-Serial is from January 2000 until September 2001. So the date is right. Lug holes were discontinued (except the Sub 14060M) around 2001. The Laser Etched Crown was introduced in 2001. Not sure about the clasp, but I guess it was introduced together with the no holes case in 2001. BUT: Your watch can indeed have a laser etched crown in the crystal, if the crystal has been exchanged after 2001. In that case, there is an "S" inside the "Coronet" laser etching, the "S" standing for "Service".
