Seeing the picture of the old and new GMT together makes me think I might want to go pick up one of these older watches. There is certainly an elegance to them that I will miss.

Mennald, perfect thankyou. I will now probably spend an hour scrolling left and right to compare them. Have you ever thought of doing a comparative review of the two ? This might be really interesting, as you obviously know and love both watches
If you could only have one, which one would it be and why

I prefer the new one just because of the way it looks.

Greetings from Singapore! Just came back from my AD (Dickson Jewellery & Watches at Wisma Atria). He has the new Anni SS GMT II. The list price is about $9700 and he's selling it at a premium of $10000! No discounts at all... One thing worth mentioning is none of the other big players (like Hour Glass, Watch Palace, Tai Hong Hung) in the Orchard Road shopping belt has brought in the new GMT yet. Dickson are the only one... In fact, Hour Glass (Lucky Plaza) said that they will only be bringing it in by December 2007!

Oh yes. My AD at Dickson also mentioned that they will be selling the pepsi, black, black/red GMTs at premium rates, now that they will be discontinued very soon...

Kee Hing Hung at People's Park Complex has got the new GMT. They may give you a better price than Dickson. Go check it out.

Wow! I noticed your post just now. What a great story! Keep postin', Mennald, it is a pleasure to read your posts (read the others and noted your nice Einstein avatar, too)

I am a pipe smoker and have a black and white foto right here to the right of my desk of Einstein smoking his pipe

$10,000 Singapore is about $6450 US if I calculated right. So about $550 higher than list US Price. I would just wait a few more month. I would never pay more than list, not even $1 over list. LIst price or a discount is fair.

Thank you, my friend.

I enjoy pipes as well. Besides Einstein, here is my other favorite "celebrity" with a pipe.

Is this the picture you mention? Another one of my favorites.

He looks like me! But he just has another kind of hair-do

No, the one I have is one where he actually is just holding his pipe. But he is wearing the same sweater, so probably it is from the same sequence of photos taken of him
