Uses for the rotating bezel

In another thread, Mike said. "I will admit that on a day to day basis the rotating bezel of the LV has more usefullness for me." I was curious as to what some of those uses are? What do you use your bezel for. I dont use mine at all, so I must be missing out.

Timing stuff like:

-Diving time (of course)
-Meat on grill
-Poaching eggs
-Pasta cooking
-Parking meter
-siesta length
-how long it takes to finish a bottle of wine
-....or a six pack
-how long 'til pizza is here
-in JJ's case: how long it takes to flip a Rolex

...and so on!

Here is a great link to the use of the GMT bezel as a compass:

http://www.oysterinfo.de/de/specials/kompass/index.php

It's on German, but I guess you can work through it.

All the things Gerado said plus in my case court breaks, getting a jury in and out on time etc....

I tried timing how long my wife could talk without taking a breath, but I had to get a GMT!

in most cases, that timing (female non-stop talking) requires a perpetual calendar

Timing mine would definitely require a watch with a date feature

But I use mine all day long. From cooking, to timing my lunch break to see how much longer I have to spend in the gym, parking meters, laps, pretty much everything

It's the bezel that makes you "STAND" longer simply because it's still below 5 minutes mark.

I use mine when I go shopping at a megamall and park way out in the middle of nowhere.

I get out of my car and stand at the back swide of it and face the store head on. Then I look for the entrance which is usualy off to one side. Then I rotate the bezel so that the inverted triangle points towards the mall doors.

When I come out of the mall I face straight ahead of look at my watch. The inverted triangle will face towards my car and I can use it like a compass, walking in that direction and finding the car.

Woerks like a charm every time.

I use it on a daily basis. You can time just about anything and it's a lot classier than a $5 Casio...I use it to time workouts. To assist when grilling. I use it to keep track of golf strokes. Measure time when traveling. I coach football and time our practice sessions (usually 10 mins. per station). Of course, there are the many traditional functions when diving (Scuba and muff).

Wow now I wish I had a rotating bezel to use as a count down, Chronographs are mostly used to count up

Funnily, I never use my bezels. The Sub bezel remains fixed with the little triangle bang on '12' and the Exp-II bezel makes me very happy with its beautiful brushed finish and fixed position.
