Coca Cola Submariner??
Is there such a thing, or even a "Cola Mariner"... I have seen the replicas, even going for as much as 500 with eta movement... but does it even exist? is there the real thing somewhere?

No, as far as I know there is no Cola-Mariner.
Rolex did in the '80's and '90's make some specialty dials for coca cola execs but they were dials on the day-date model. They also did some for the execs at Chevy with the Chevy bow tie on them.

No such watch was ever made by Rolex, but in the 60s a few OPs and DJs had coca-cola on dial in gold and SS they were official.

So people here have never seen this replica before. There are websites advertising it for 500 dollars or so with ETA movememnts, I just wondered if it actually existed, otherwise, why the hell pay 500 dollars for a replica of a watch that was never made by Rolex to begin with?

I mean, I can understand if the watch had been made by Rolex, but if it isnt people must be buying this for the sheer novelty ...

Since the bezel on the submariner is denominated in minutes, to help with timing your dives, I am not sure how a "Pepsi" type bezel would make sense, as it does on the GMT, which is denominated in hours and day/night. So that is a bizarre copy that doesn't make sense. Oh well, it's a crazy world.

Well eduardo, unless you want to buy and wear a cola fake I'd say don't spend your money on that watch.

Earl:
you must have misunderstood me, because I never said I liked it or wanted it. My question to you all was, if the watch had ever existed, or if it was ever made. My link to the replica was simply to show what I had found online. |

i think someone had a bunch of red dials and bezels and decided to slap em on some replicas... probably trying to fake some red (lettering?)sub and got their wires crossed with their manufacturer.
