Folex dealers unite

Have you seen this?

http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/...ap3859297.html

29 people, 950 shipments, worth about $700 million worth (if real) of conterfeit items were confiscated today. I wonder if this means customers will get serious about fake stuff entering the US? Maybe I'll get fewer "buy fake Rolexes" spam.

Probably too much to hope for.

Now THAT would be a worthwhile outcome!

I wouldn't want to be in that group that got caught. Rolex alone has a strict policy againest fako's.

Why do Replica sellers operate with impunity?

If that is so, why are there so many websites that offer so many different grades of replicas? It seems that Rolex turns its eyes away from that business. You can buy fakes at prices ranging from $50 to $4K for solid gold ones. It seems that all the vendor has to do is issue a disclaimer about any authenticity and fakes are "legal". Am I missing something?

$4k for a solid gold fake is crazy. I'd love to know why someone would spend that kind of money on a fake. For that money you can get a nice used Rolex, not a DD president, but certainly a nice TT DJ.
