Icon20 trying to get info on vintage rolex

I'm trying to get some info on my vintage rolex. I was told that my grandfather bought in the 1950s - maybe in Europe. I've looked on line and can't find anything like it. It's very simple, gold but the odd thing is that it says, "Rolex oyster" on one line and "Perpetual" on the line under that. At the bottom of the watch it says, "officially certified". Any thoughts? Thanks!

Ask in the vintage forum, or ask a moderator to move you post to vintage.

Without a photo, don't expect much specific info.
With one, you'll get all you need.

Those words appear on most Rolex watches in some form or another.

The numbers you need should be on the side of the case under the strap endlink, or inside the case back.
