Best everyday Rolex?

Nothing compares to this for versatility. The fact that it doesn’t have a date makes it even more ‘timeless.’

Any of them will work...my 2 cents. If I had to pick one - SubC date.

And the foundation for every single Rolex Sports watch ever made with the exception of the Daytona.

Any of them. Thats what makes Rolex different from any other brand. Dress up or down, 24/7. Pick one.

In some ways I agree with this. But on the other hand just about any Rolex goes with anything... Unless you are moving in uber stratified circles.

116500 Daytona or

114300 OP39 White Dial

So good and look great with a suit or jeans and a t-shirt.

Gmt or datejust with oyster bracelet and smooth bezel. Quite possibly the worlds most versatile watch.

I’ll go against the grain and say that a sub is not a great everyday Rolex because it doesn’t pair well with a suit/formal attire. I think a DJ is a much better “everyday” watch.

Sd43, beautiful anniversary watch with well balanced proportions. The Sub compared to the SD43 is a lil bit too bulky with the maxi case.

The proportions on the 5 digit Sub are better IMHO

It frustrates me to no end that Rolex took the Exp II up to 42. When I think about the potential of a 40mm Exp II with the modern bracelet w/easylink...forget it, I can't even think about it.

I realize it's mostly me being selfish because 42 just won't work for me. I understand why they did it. The Exp II and the YM are the two current Rolex sport models w/numerical bezel that my eye immediately goes to because they don't have that mirror-like ceramic. YM gets kicked out because of PCLs, leaving the Exp II as the last man standing...and now it's in a size that I just can't do.

I like Explorer 1 (214270 MK2). Balanced shape and size amongst the entire Rolex line up. Can fit large or small wrist. Can dress up or dress down. Fits under any cuff on dressier occasions and goes pretty much with any casual attire. Subtle when you want it to be but a Rolex nonetheless. Comfortable all around.

... fairly obtainable in today’s standard so people don’t have to worry and start threads of “should I wear my Explorer when I go to.... should I keep it in the safe since the value of SS has gone...etc”

This is 100% correct and is the exact right analogy.
