ROO 42 Diver on Steel - Thoughts - Help please

So, full disclosure, I have been in the Rolex world for a long time and I am very used to steel bracelets, but also used to changing them out to rubber (ie Rubber B or Everest) at times...

Now, thinking the reverse, I just picked up the Offshore 42 Diver last weekend on Rubber, and I am thinking of getting the AP bracelet... Called the closest store and they want $2200.00 for it...

1. Was wondering if this is a good price or just retail

Main question - 2. Does anyone have one on steel, and whats it like, I think of this as a mostly daily wearer.

Thanks!!!

Its a HEAVY bracelet and 2K is about what I see them sell for. There is an 26470 for sale from a seller in the classifieds who is offering a full bracelet for it for 2K in addition, so its in line.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. The diver belongs on rubber in my opinion.

I wouldn't, much prefer the RO bracelet, the ROO is chunky enough.

It’s about the going rate +\- a few bucks depending on where you source it.

When I got my diver, I was dead set on adding the bracelet, but I’ve found the rubber to be so so comfortable, durable, utilitarian, low key, practical and good looking, I have left that thought behind.

I would say give it some months, and then think about it again and see if you still want to add it. It’s a beautiful looking bracelet for sure, so if you like bracelets vs. straps I’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed in anyway. But you may find the rubber actually gets the bulk of the wrist time.

I just sold my ROO bracelet in the range described in other's postings.
I had picked it up as I thought I would want to do exactly what you are describing - swap between strap and bracelet on both a ROO chrono and ROO diver.
However, I found that I needed a 1.5link to make the bracelet fit well and decided to sell instead of going that direction as:
- the bracelet is really heavy
- the bracelet is gorgeous, but will rapidly get patina/ scratches that I thought would take away from the overall appearance
- the ROO case and design work really well with a rubber strap and it balances the watch quite well
- with lots of color options for OEM straps, I'm finding I can vary both watches with different straps and at the cost difference you can have ~6 straps for the cost of one bracelet

I wasn't intending to get an AP at all, but the diver on bracelet caught my attention and bought it for that precise look. Found my perfect bracelet watch. So I sourced out a bracelet immediately after buying the diver and swapped it for the rubber immediately. The bracelet hugs the wrist much more precisely so it slips under your cuff very easily. It is a tad heavy but, its not like it tires my arm out in any palpable way or anything like that so not an issue at all for me. My anti-bump watch radar has become second nature to me and most of the time i forget I am wearing it.

It sure is an absolute stunner on the bracelet. Maybe even more tool watch vibe than the rubber somehow. Seems to dial up the industrial design even more.

I can’t get mine under my French cuffs with the strap on, but yeah, quite possibly as you say to do with how grippy the rubber is as opposed to dimensions.

Had to leave my cufflinks off last time - need to get some new dress shirts made I think !

See, your a problem, this looks so great, I rocked a DSSD, so weight can’t be that much, and as others have said, it looks amazing.

Great photos and thanks!!!

The AP dealer in Charlotte NC quoted me that price.

I love the diver and other 42mm on bracelet. I think it's a cool way to switch it up. Much beefier and more supportive than the hornback which I think wears a little flimsy and makes the watch very top-heavy.

I know hornback doesn't come with the divers, just comparing bracelet to hornback.

Damn. I thought CW was cheaper than a dealer.

I owned a Diver on rubber, it really works on the strap.

But if you like the bracelet go for it, I think it looks great.

If you find it too heavy you can sell it.

I’ve never handled the ROO bracelet. How does the fit and finish compare to the bracelet on the 15400?

Rubber is very comfortable, the bracelet adds some weight obviously but changes the look tremendously into more of a sport diver dress Watch vs just a diver Watch. I really like the option to have both, like two watches for the price of 1.15. I think as soon as I can acquire the 1.5 link, I will get the comfort factor dialed in also.

FWIW, the weight is not a big deal.

I purchased my ROO Safari with a hornback strap but wear it now almost exclusively on bracelet. Looks so good. Bracelet fits Diver even better considering its black dial

Planning to add the bracelet soon. Do I need to purchase any additional hardware (plots or screws) - provided there’s nothing defective with those currently on the piece. New to the AP world and appreciate the help

I ordered an extra set of screws and plots from AP. It makes changing straps that much easier as the rubber and the steel bracelet will have their own hardware and swapping will be a breeze.
