I don't need to post an actual picture this is not my thread, I merely pointed out I have the same problem, and the question is not whether the watch is rose gold all the way through. The AD offered to polish it every six months! Even 904 "stainless" steel experiences surface oxidation. Rose gold has long been known to color shift...I just thought Rolex had it figured out with "Everose."
The AD acknowledges it, whether the forum does or not. |

My wedding ring is 24 years old and is the same color as the day my wife bought it but what does happen is you notice the distinction less when you get used to it. The type of light you look at it in can make a big difference.

I just got the new lady 31 rose gold/ss datejust with the chocolate dial and staggered diamonds on the bezel.
It is 'everose' which I was told was a new process that prevents fading because they put platinum with it. I don't know when they started to do this. I hope it dosen't fade because I love rosegold. I would have your watch checked at Rolex. Good luck |

Any updates on Everose "fading" or "shifting" colors? I had a conversation today with a friend who told me an AD was claiming the new PM models are known to maintain their surface color to a greater extent. My understand is the color is solid throughout the entire watch case and bracelet therefore any color degradation would be superficial (dirt, grime, tarnish, etc).

Have there been a lot of threads on this in the seven years since this thread began?

I own a rose gold Day-Date that was originally purchased in 2003. I can't say with certainty whether the color of my rose gold watch has changed over the years. I can say, however, that the color of my DD appears a bit less "coppery" than today's everose gold.

I brought two 1970s DDs into RSC for service estimates. Both were described in the estimates as yellow gold, despite both actually being Rose Gold. I brought this to the attention of Rolex, and they apologied, correct their info and explained that the color changed over the years.
Now obviously I’m talking about much much older specimens, but anything is possible. |

But yes I was also shocked. One of the watches I actually went through with the service, and told them I was actually shocked at their mistake. Imagine I went to sell the watch, represent it accurately as a RG DD, provide paperwork that stated YG. |

Never seen gold fade personally. Or rose gold turn into a more yellow gold colour. It just doesn't happen as far as I'm aware, as the copper content responsible for the colour hasn't disappeared. Chlorine damage can cause dull pitting and dark staining however.
