I remember how important the "year" seemed to be to people when the serial numbers started with a letter. I had a 16520 circa 2000 that was the last for that model and a few 116520's were A's. My first 116520 was either P or K, whichever came after A.

16610LV random serial
Yes, M is followed by "7" Arabic numbers instead of "6". e.g. M1234567 This can easily lead to confusion between M and Random serial. That's why its previous owner was mistaken. I explained to him that it's a random serial number because of the following reasons. 1. The serial number consists of 8 digits. Previously, it consisted of 7 digits (1 letter + 6 Arabic numbers). 2. On the rehaut, the first letter is engraved between 26 and 27 minute markers. Previously, it was aligned with a 27 minute marker. 16610lv_random.jpg ROLEX 16610LV Random Serial Number 16610lv_M_serial.jpg ROLEX 16610LV M Serial Number 3. Its clasp code is "RS" which means that it was manufactured in 2010. My other random 16610lv also has the same clasp code. clasp.jpg Screenshot2013-09-03at92837PM_zps4f187a97.png |

No, It's in 2010

Generally, we cannot guess the year of production of a ROLEX watch with a random serial number. But exceptionally, we can estimate it if a watch is a discontinued model in 2010. For example, 16610, 16610LV, and 114270 were discontinued in 2010. Rarely, some of them have a random serial number and they were manufactured in 2010. That's why random 16610LVs are so special. |
