Bought mine on June 1 of 2012. The day of the last US Price Hike! Thankfully the AD gave to me at the prior days pricing w/ out tax, as we had been negotiating for a couple of days! Had no interest at all in the LVC based on the pictures, but once I saw in person...I loved it, and knew i had to have it! Not only was that before all of the recent hype, it seemed that almost no one on the forum really liked it, and was often bashed on!

I have to disagree with that. For people like me that are anal about a black watch needing to be matched with black shoes and belt (not brown), the green is perfect. Goes well with either black or brown shoes and belt

Absolute nonsense. Having owned one for three years, I find it goes with anything. The BLNR is much less versatile with a bi-coloured bezel.

I just recently picked up a G serial from 2011 and love it. I was happy to get it for less than current retail in Australia. I had been eyeing one for a while but availability in Australia is very low and any at dealers are going for crazy prices. Waiting lists at AD's are very long.
I believe there is definitely those that are simply jumping on the bandwagon to flip for profit but if it is not discontinued next year and more stock becomes available at AD's then used & grey prices should return to more sensible levels. I hope!! :)

Those who can afford buy it and enjoy it.

Those who can’t...give all the reasons in the world to question from hype, color and everything about the watch.

Best to enjoy what one can afford and respect others who can afford more.

Personal differences of color opinions aside; green is a symbolic color of the brand and Rolex appears to be further branding/symbolizing green into their lineup.

A green submariner is going to become the equivalent of a red sports car IMO.
Overdone? Most Porsche addicts would prefer almost any color to Guards Red.
