Facilitating a trade

hey gang.

After much thought and careful consideration, I am looking to trade my Rolex Submariner two tone (Bluesy) for a no-holes GMT Pepsi that isn't buffed to a pulp.

SO... this is where you all come in. How would one go about that? Is there a certain web dealer you would recommend? I have worked with DavidSW in the past and he is amazing but doesnt have one in stock. I would rather not post to the WTB section, I have heard that can be rather, lets say, more miss that hit!

Any and all feedback is welcome. As always, thank you in advance!

Check with the other trusted sellers on this site. There are a couple that deal more in vintage so they may be the ones to get you squared away with what you want.

Get in touch with Tony Geha (JustRolexes) and tell him what you are looking for and you have a trade. I did a deal with him and he is top notch.

Also try Springer... Don't know if he takes modern Rolexes, but he's very knowledgeable with the Vintage GMT's

Wait until you see a TS with the watch you want then open the conversation. I did exactly that and ended up with exactly what I wanted. I’ve traded numerous watches the other way and ended up with less value in the end. Time is either your friend or enemy depending on your patience.

Good advise, thank you. If I have learned anything, its you have to be patient! I am no rush, would rather wait and get the best piece for me.

There is one item I neglected to get some feedback on which is the trade value. Depending on condition, what would a fair trade be for both parties?

Certainly want to be 100% fair and open.

No clue.. Best bet would be to browse through the FS forums and find like condition watches for reference or look at other forums / sites like watchrecon or Chrono24?

I'd personally sell your watch first and then when the GMT you want comes up, make an offer. I'd guess your success for aquiring will be higher this way.

Tried on the exact model your wanting to trade today at local AD. Are you sure you want to trade , I have a 16700 A serial GMT that I was happy to trade in ,& just had to laugh at the trade in price they offered . You might end up paying out more for a vintage GMT than you think . Oh and btw the trade was in my favour, but my wife was rather annoyed that I was willing to trade in the 16700 , so with marital happiness & given the festive season I walked away .

tbh you wont be able to do that without cash added. not trying to disaude you but id consider one with lug holes as well. very clean examples exist from trusted sellers here and you can put cahs in your pocket instead.
