Need to add a link or two on Oyster DSSD

Hi guys,

I have a very large wrist and my watch is too tight even though the Glide-Lock is extended to the maximum and the bracelet is equipped with the extension link (it's closed, though) that equips the DSSD.

I have a few questions :

-How many links do I need?

-Where can I find original link(s)? (I am in Europe).

-Can I easily do this operation myself?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I'd go to an AD to have them order your links, they can help with ordering how many you need and for fitting them onto your bracelet.

If you're not near an AD, post some pics? Order 2 links to be on the safe side if not near an AD?

I have a wrist just a *hair* larger than 8". 8.25 when swollen.

Needed one extra link on my James Cameron :)

By default it worked... but it was a hair tight when hot/sweaty at max length.

AD was able to order me one. Took about four weeks and cost was like $65.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, there's no AD in my area.

This is why im looking to buy the links on internet and do the job myself.

I'm exactly in the same position as you.

Id order a link and the the glide lock should get it to your sweet spot? AD is probably best bet if you're no confident or experienced adding and removing links

I’d order 2, to be on the safe side. Keep the extra, if not needed, in your kit. Doing it yourself is easy. I do all my own bracelet sizing, no matter the brand of watch. Many of us could talk you through it.

Order 1 and see how that fits. If you need another then order 1 more. If you order 2 and need only 1, you will have that extra link for no reason for forever.

You must be a real hell of a man to require two additional links on a deep sea. Jealous.

I believe 2 links would be good.

Reach out to Bas (Searchart is his username) and he can likely guide you on the best way to get links ordered as he is a watchmaker and orders parts for the watches coming across his bench. Good luck!

Links on a DSSD are 10mm length. I ordered 3 extra links for my 8.5” wrist and make it easily go over my hand . The 136660 doesn’t not come with the diver clasp. I wear it with the glide lock completely IN, then open all the way up to take off and put on. I also like having all 20mm of the glide lock for full adjustment. I could remove 1 link but like my watches a little loose.

You obviously need to order a minimum of 2 extra links= 20mm of extension since you’re using all 20mm of the glide lock. You could remove the diver clasp at that point also if you wanted.

Thanks to all for the input! Really appreciate your help.

How do I know what's the size of the links I need ? They are wider at the top and slimmer down (attached to the glide lock).

Does anyone know a reputable seller on Ebay ?
