Rolex Submarina 16610 T
Hi, I am looking to buy another Submariner, but what does the T mean in 16610 T? also what year did Rolex start making the Subs with a heavier bracelet? my last Submariner was a 1996 and had the light weight oyster bracelet. I am looking at a 2006 model...
Any help would really be appreciated . Thank you, |

There is no "heavier" bracelet for the 16610 in that they all use the same links. Since about 1999 they used the 93250 which had a better extension clasp but the links are interchangable with the earlier 93150. Solid links for the Subs (heavier) began with the ceramic models.
The T simply means that the case has non-pierced lugs. The T stands for Trou, French for hole, or in this case a blind hole and not punched all the way through. All Rolex that had pierced lugs and then went to the non-pierced cases will have a T until the next generation model numbers, with the Sub Date, this began in about 2002.
