The Pelagos is a great watch, but a Sub is a Sub...and the 114060 is a particularly nice iteration of the Sub.

Just from looking at pictures online, sub all the way.

BUT... I have tried both watches on just once in an AD at different times. When I tried the sub on I was so disappointed. As I say in pictures it looks wonderful but on my wrist the case just looked so damn blocky, I was looking at an Omega Seamaster ceramic at the same time and much preferred how that wore.

Now I tried a tudor pelagos for the first time yesterday (see the thread about tudor giving me a headache) and was blown away by the quality which I feel matches the sub, comfort and looks, that matte finish just looks amazing on a tool, why more watches don't have a matte ceramic bezel I don't know. And no blocky case!

So in summary online pics can be deceiving, go and see what looks good on your wrist.

Also Rolex got it so right with the case and design on the new sea dweller but obviously more £££.

I'd go with the sub. First because of looks, second because I do not like Tudors

Pretty easy....a ceramic Sub no date/114060 (I have the non ceramic version). It's just classic and down right beauty. I wear my Pelagoes maybe three days a week. Because it's a true tool watch. I am fortunate to have both. But if I could only have none...it would be 114060...hands down.

If you want me to say Tudor, then go for it. It seems that you want us to like the Tudor better. But the Sub looks the best. So, do you want the original or a great copy?

The Pelagos is an exceptional watch and is suited to almost everything the Sub can do. I say almost because there is one thing the Pelagos is not... It's not a showy watch. It would look ill suited for a dressy event [pun intended]. As such the Sub is slightly more versatile.

I got a chance to see both watches side by side today.
The Pelagos is positively brutish in comparison to the Sub.
That is by no means a slam though.
In the flesh, the 2 couldn't look more different.
Pelagos is a tool watch, plain and simple, albeit a great looking tool watch.
The Sub C is much classier looking with dare I say, shiny blinginess to it.
Clearly, the Sub C is the more versatile of the 2.
It's now officially on my gotta have list.
