Suggestions for 2nd watch
Hey friends,
I have been poking around this place for a while now. Bought my first Rolex about a year ago and have been totally in love since - DJII SS with the Slate Blackish face, fluted bezel, romans. Couldn't be happier. Looking for something that I can make an every day watch - something different than what I have now. What would be a good complimentary watch? I know you can't go wrong with a two-tone sub, but not exactly sure if that is the route I want to go. Suggestions welcome. Thanks! |

DJII is fairly bling so a perfect compliment would be what is IMO, the only "proper" tool watch that Rolex still make, Explorer II (216570).
Or alternatively any sports Rolex from the pre-ceramic era. |

The watch you own is pretty versatile. But if you want something that is a solid, day in, day out reliable, low profile timepiece, nothing better, in my opinion, than an Explorer.

GMTII (116710) is a very versatile watch for daily wear.
A Sub, any Sub, is an excellent choice and you'll eventually get one anyway. An Explorer (114270) or (214270) are good watches that are more subdued than most other Rolex watches and can be dressy, too.

A Submariner is a great addition to any collection. A very nice piece. Here's a pic I snapped of my Submariner Ceramic date earlier today. I absolutely love this and I split my wrist time with this and the Daytona. |

For true variety in your collection get a white faced sports model. I'd recommend the Explorer II as it has a white dial, brushed center links, and is slightly larger. A Submariner would also be a good choice if you want something with a rotatable bezel.

I would take a look at the following models:
Sub GMT EXP/EXPII Any of these would give you a nice contrast from the DJ and be a perfect everyday, do anything type watch. That's what they were made for. |

Sub or GMT. I always figure if I get a second Rolex it will most likely be a DJ or DJII

I'd echo some of the suggestions here and say Explorer II. It's a bit bigger than the DJII, which in my head should be the ratio of sport to dressy watch. I like black dials even when white is available, but you'll have to decide which you prefer if this is the route you take.
