The wife thinks she "needs" a rolex.

She is convinced that she needs a Rolex, she is getting jealous of my minor collection, since all she has is her stamp collection.

I'm surprised any man who is married could make it far enough to have a collection without the wife having at least one. She must have a lot of shoes.

Explain that if she doesn't wear it every day, she'll have to reset the time every time she puts it on. That should be enough to turn her off of the idea... unless she plans to wear it every day!!

Nobody needs a Rolex. What was her reasoning for needing one? Wanting one is a completely different story though and there really doesn't have to be a reason. I say get it for her.

I'm in just the opposite situation. I have been trying to convince my wife to let me get her a Rolex and she says no. Loves the watch but feels scared she would damage or lose it, and is concerned that coworkers will see it and will have negative opinions about it.

My wife said those exact words last year. Here was our 5 year anniversary pic yesterday.

This a slippery slope you're traveling down. Next thing you know your watch budget will be sliced in half due to the Misses getting in the mix! Best of luck...

I am sure she doesn't "need" one anymore than you or any of us "need" one. Maybe just the idea it would make her happy is enough to "want" to get her one?

Getting your wife into watches is a double edged sword. In my experience, there is less questioning (and even encouragement) in my acquiring more watches. But...there is less budget, as someone else is now acquiring watches.

I am very lucky. My wife is happy with her Citizen eco drive. I offered to buy her a DJ, and she said no.

LOL Has she tried on your 14060? Here's an idea for you....see if she's ok with the 36mm DJ. If thats a viable option, you both will have 2 watches to wear.

Get her one!! Took me several years to convince my wife she should have one. She won't wear anything but Rolex now. It will make it easier when you want to add to or to flip one in your collection.

I'm very lucky my girlfriend doesn't wear a watch, or want to wear a watch!

See if you can hold her off until Christmas, then you don't need to stress on figuring out what to get her.

My wife used to wear hers all the time. When I noticed she wasn't and asked why, she said, "because I have to wind it and set it."
She wears no watch in its place.
But can I sell it and add those funds to my watch bucket? HA! Pretend I never even asked...
