Another This or That with a Twist
OK, strictly on terms of appearance, which do you prefer:
Tudor Pelagos or Submariner 114060 I ask because I'm planning on getting one for a retirement gift to myself in a year or 2. I'm a 1 watch guy, so one of them will be on my wrist every day. I know the Rolex should be the one for a "one watch guy", but darn it, the Pelagos is so darn nice looking. I guess my second question is could the Pelagos be an every day watch for a "one watch guy"? Are there any aspects of it or the 114060 that would or wouldn't make it an every day watch for a "one watch guy". Thanks all, Lenny |

That's a nice proposal for a retirement gift to your self.
Do you need the date? If I were to end up with one watch only, it would have to be my Submariner Ceramic Date. I can live without the date as I also wear a Daytona. If the dollars aren't an issue, I would definitely say the Submariner Ceramic in the date, or non-date versions. Buying anything else, if you have considered a Submariner, will eventually result in you buying it later down the road IMO |

Without a doubt, the sub is my recommendation with your 1 watch behavior!

The 114060 gets my vote. If you do however need the date, then the 116610LN is equally as spectacular!

I would only add....don't worry about the date. I own 2 watches without date and adore both. The 114060 SubC NoDate is IMHO one of the purest, most symmetrical and prettiest Rolex out there.

If you plan to get it in a year or two, why not decide closer to the time?

Aha, just as I thought.
Sub wins by a landslide. But were you really all voting based only on looks? It really was a 2 part question. 1. Which looks better 2. Which would you suggest for a "one watch guy" Obviously, the answer to 2 is the Sub C. And BTW, I don't need the date at all. Plus, I really don't like the cyclops. Now, how about answering question 1, HONESTLY! Lenny |

Pelagos has some nice bells and whistles but can't hold a candle to the versatile, bulletproof sub and I have a Pelagos.

Categorically, they're equally versatile. Aesthetically, the Rolex is in a class by itself.

The sub all day long for me. The much better looking piece of the two. I'm not a big fan of the hour hand on the Pelagos
