16618 gold sub, blue dial or slate Serti?

I have a 16613 that I'm going to either replace or augment with a 16618. On the two tone, I really liked how the slate dial picked up the steel, while still having gold and blue highlights to accent the bezel. Unlike some, I really enjoy tasteful gems on a men's precious metal watch.

The decisions I'm trying to make are:

1. Keep or flip the 16613 when I buy the 16618. If kept, the 16613 would be a "beater," even though I hate that term. Wear it on the boat, wear it when there's a higher likelihood of scratches, dings, etc.

2. Get the 16618 in slate Serti, or the traditional blue dial.

Money isn't really a consideration, as the $7k or so the 16613 is worth doesn't make or break the deal.

Thanks for your help!!

If you want a serti dial, I prefer the slate over the champagne....but the blue is hard to beat!

If money is really not a consideration; what about a blue lapis lazuli dial... ;)

The blue is iconic and pairs better with the yellow gold. I would keep the two tone for a while after and if you find it not getting any wrist time then you can sell

They're cool and rare, but not worth an extra $30k or $35k to me over the sunburst blue.

Selling mine I still cry. As a matter of fact I burst out in tears last night and cold sweat ! It's one of the most beautiful watches made. But it would've received no wrist time after buying 116619..

If I could find that mint NOS example I'd buy it right now

No help to you Mr. bobernet but it brought back memories

I didn't realize the YG had diamond hour marker. I knew the WG did. Wonder what the YG looks like, but to me the slate dial is incredible with the blue stones, white stones.. it's the dial to me that makes it all come together

Slate Serti is more at home on the TT as it goes with the SS imo. Full gold Sub has to be full blue or full black for me. Congrats btw way two stunners!

You already have a 16613 serti dial ...
keep it and add the 16618 blue dial for a killer combo
or the new 116618 LB blue dial ceramic if funds permit...
That's what I'd do ...
