Congratulations! These are very cool and it looks superb on you.
The white faced version of this watch is what got me back into watches after a long time of resisting any purchases (not sure that’s a good thing!). I was considering the 42”, then the aquatimer chrono caught my eye , then the 46” 2000...beast of a watch! I ended up getting distracted by APs and never did pick one up, but regularly peruse the aquatimer offerings on watch recon |

I dug through some old photos and came up with these. It is a really cool line of watches. |

It is pretty cool - not as interesting as the blue dial 42 you got - but cool nonetheless
...but I really, really need to take a bit of a break on the watch purchase front...so it will stay on the “watch” list for now |

Popped by an IWC boutique on the return leg of a long walk this morning.
Apparently, they have no extra-small rubber straps available for the base model Aquatimer. They told me it could take several months before they receive an extra-small strap from Schaffhausen. Since they have 3 boutiques (including a huge flagship store in Kowloon) and many ADs here, this is surprising to me. The whole situation seems unnecessary. At the farthest hole, their standard strap could fit a 23 cm wrist (9 inches). But at the shortest hole, it's at least 1 cm too long for my 17 cm (6.7 inch) wrist. Keeping in mind that I have a bigger wrist than most men in Hong Kong, why wouldn't IWC keep short straps in stock? |

Noticed a nice design feature of this watch.
One thing that kept me from buying a Mark XVIII is the date placement, caused by the Sellita movement being too small for the case Despite having an ETA 2892 and a 42mm case, the Aquatimer date looks correctly placed because of the internal bezel. They did a nice job designing around the movement |

Love the blue dial. I just picked up an Ingy yesterday. I like where the brand is going.

Agreed, they dropped the ball. And unless their target market is the morbidly obese, the standard strap length should be shorter

Update: IWC has reached out to me. They expedited my request and have a strap waiting at a nearby boutique

I’m looking for the Aquatimer as well, the ETA movement kept off a bit of purchasing it, however, the complete design (unique looks) is taking me back into the consideration.
I only own Rolex and what I see always around is the kind of “Submariner” type of dice watch (Bezel) and that’s why I love the Aquatimer, it’s unique design. If IWC just could add a in house movement, I’m sure this could become a hit |
