When the BLNR first surfaced, I had the opportunity to purchase it for some $2,000 less than what it is today. Yes, retail price from then to today. And it isn't possible getting one at retail at all today. I finally caved and paid above retail to get mine.

Sales tax also come in to play. A BLNR would cost $9777 at an AD in my area (9.25% tax). So to me, you paid MSRP.

If the hype hasn’t died down in 4 years, I don’t see any reason why the values will drop off the cliff suddenly. There is a reason why it’s popular and that is because it’s a damn good looking piece. In my view this price is very reasonable and will only (gradually) rise in value!

And to those folks who are comparing prices in the uk with that if the states, there is no comparison. The RRP In the states is higher but you also get discounts. If some one went to the states and bought one, those law abiding citizens amongst us would still have to pay duty on it on return to the uk. Here in the uk the RRP is lower so no discounts are offered, in addition to the fact that no SS are around.

In my view and as been said loads of times before, buy the watch you want and if it means you pay a little more, so be it! Life is too short

It was love at first sight for me also, I always regretted getting a DateJust rather than the BLNR for 3 years. So I finally made the change.

Dubai is hit and miss... even with my contacts in Abu Dhabi, I had to wait almost 3 weeks to get my BLNR. Best purchase EVER! Better than even my AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver. I Love it that much!

Hi Emkwan, thats weird I was literally watching your BLNR videos yesterday!

3 weeks, that's not long at all. I've been quoted 2 years from an AD here in the UK!

You better hope that it doesn't go down. If they keep the supply and demand regulated I think you should be good in the years to come.

Any idea of the RRP in the US?

$8950 plus state tax (around 7% I think?)
So around £1100 more than UK list price......

THEN......you need to declare upon entering the UK and pay VAT....so you could end up with a £9k BLNR

So in a nutshell, don’t even think about it
Far better to pay a bit of a premium and buy in the UK

I paid retail a few weeks ago, $8,950. I did call around and there were several AD’s around the east coast that had them and were willing to ship out of state, but no discounts. If I waited long enough I could probably have sourced one with a discount but I’m thrilled to have it and start making memories immediately with it on my wrist.

So, you paid £1k over retail for what undisputedly is one of the most wanted Rolex's ! If you keep it for a few years you will most likely get all your money back and have enjoyed ownership.

If you'd have bought most other brands you would have lost thousands as you walked out the shop

Just enjoy ..don't let anyone spoil that for you. You've probably earned it.

Yes, it’s $8950 US + state and local sales taxes. A few states have no sales tax, but most do and some are quite high (8 or 9 %). If you ship across state lines (buy in New York, for example, and have the watch shipped to California) there is no sales tax.

The duty / VAT question is, of course, another matter.

I have seen BLNRs at varying times at various bay area ADs. By definition they would be sold for MSRP plus tax. I am not sure if there is a hype around them or not. Beautiful watch, worthy of the price.

3 years for me and I rang this AD 30miles away from me and told me not even think about it for long long time. I told her it's not a Daytona and she just laughed at me. Oh well, they won't be getting my money lol

No the BLNR hype will never die! The Batman is an instant classic. They're not available at all in Germany along with the Hulk and SubC ND. These 3 watches are all in extremely high demand. Actually here in Germany you only see TT and PM Rolex for sale with the exception of the Datejusts and DJ41. I didn't even see a damn 116610LN nor a 116710LN anywhere. In America they can be obtained within a month but in Europe I was told 3 years for the BLNR and similar times for the Hulk. The salesman actually told me the BLNR was a really smart purchase and that I did the right thing getting one as soon as I could. The 116500LNs are nowhere to be found. They are not taking any more names and it doesn't matter if you're a good customer who has bought PM watches from them. Rolex has the supply completely tightened down. I actually regret not buying a black dial one for $15k when I had the chance in the summer. Now the prices have gone back up.

If you bought the watch to “flip” obviously you may loose $1000. If you bought the watch to wear, enjoy & pass on just enjoy

1000 pounds over retail price,,,long term it won't matter

You wear it for ten years,,, so 100 pounds per year

Don't even think about it,,,just wear and enjoy

My local AD in 2015 here in UK gave me a 12 month wait, however, a chance call to a WOS branch approx 1.5hrs away said they had one in stock. Needless to say I put down a 10% deposit over the phone and picked one up at MSRP (£5995 at the time). Seeing the high prices and light year wait times, makes me feel that I made the right choice at the right time. Enjoy your purchase :)

BLNR currently seems to be the go to watch for many buying their first Rolex.

Not sure if that's good or bad.

If you like the piece and will enjoy it for many years to come, forget what you paid and enjoy it in good health. The hype and prices vary all over the world. You happen to be where they are still rare and coveted.
I decided to get one here in the USA and the first AD I contacted had one. I bought it at MSRP, no tax and haven't looked back.

if it makes you feel better, I was all set to get myself down to the westgate in oxford today as goldsmiths have re-located, I was told a couple of weeks ago that they may have a couple of specials for their grand opening, they did, namely a ss date sub, I had no chance, the first person in the queue saw to that, it sold instantly, and could have done 50 times,

you paid 1000 over but you own one, if you stick to retail you have to be lucky.

10 years time it will be 9 grand or more.
