Don't usually ask this type of question, but...

Leaving for Caribbean cruise soon. I usually wear 116619 (smurf). Thinking of taking that and DD40 yellow gold. Don't usually travel with two but I'm thinking of doing it because I love switching them up nFo you travel with more than one? Any concerns on your part? They are insured:

Just maybe watch your back a little you know. Your watch is insured but you are not.

I love both of those pieces and I can see where there would be ample opportunity to use both...however, I wouldn't tempt the fates. One would stay at home. Probably the DD.

I'd just take the Smurf, don't like the idea of keeping a gold Rolex in your cabin. Or you can keep it in your pocket in a casebudi at all times.

This sounds like good advice to me. I sure my watches so that I don’t have to worry about wearing them. But you do need to make sure you stay safe. I’d still bring them both with them being insured. Just watch your surroundings.

Leave the DD at home. If you miss it a lot, you can always pick up another one during your vacation!

If you are on a cruise there will be pick pockets and worse at every single port. I wear my rolex (just one, never leave big money of any kind in your cabin/safe) onboard and i keep it in my pocket with my hand on it during shore excursions. I also dont bring a wallet. I carry one id one credit card and cash in my front pocket with my hand on it. So my hand, my rolex and id/money all,get sweaty but we all come home safe.

We're off on a cruise in a little over two weeks. I was initially wondering the same thing about travelling with two watches but I'm going to wear a Sub and that's it.

if you are worried about your watch then maybe its too dangerous for you. My watch goes where i go without exception. If its too dangerous for one its too dangerous for the other. As far as having a 2nd watch, I'm sure your room will have a safe.

Less flash the better , I would leave dd home since it's yellow gold.
Your smurf could do the under cover work

All cruise ship staterooms typically have a safe but, just as hotel rooms, I don't trust them enough to leave an expensive watch in there. They can be carried out of the cabin/room, no worries at all.

Depending on the port/itinerary/excursion I would wear the watch that draws least attention. I have only been on one Caribbean cruise as we mainly cruise in the Med. I was struck by the beauty of it but also the poverty in some areas. I always take my Rolex onboard but have a Casio as well should I wish to wear it . Have a great time.

+1
Why buying an expensive watch if you worried each time you wear it ?
Travelling almost every week from Naples in Italy, to Istanbul, living in Paris and never had issues. Just careful as in every Big city.

Agree. Only take the one (watch) that would draw the least attention.

Did you buy them to wear or to insure?

With common sense on cruise you will be safe. You are insured but even so if you are going to worry even ONE LITTLE BIT, just bring one, it is a vacation and the last thing you need to think about is whether the watch off your wrist is safe. I took a cruise two years ago and I brought my bluesy as my main wear, and left a vintage dj back in the cabin to be taken out only for the two formal dinners. I had it in my head that if my vintage dj got stolen from the room safe (which would be extremely rare) I was ok with it. I can tell you tough I'm not sure if I would have taken the same approach with my Day Date. Its highly unlikely any watch will be stolen on a cruise with common sense, but enjoying your vacation first is paramount. Cheers.

Agreed, honestly, I just bring my Apple watch on all my traveling in an unknown area. And my DJ isn't even really conspicuous.

I more and more travel with just one or maybe a decent one and a quartz beater if it's business travel with some plant floor time and some dinners or more formal meeting activity. A vacation or most business travel I can get by with one and it makes things easier.

Wear cheap beater Gshock, Eco Drive, Seiko 007 etc and buy new Rolex in Nassau duty free and don't let it leave your wrist. In my humble opinion taking 2 is madness

Agree, and I would suggest not taking the YG piece. Don't take it off for any reason, period!

My last trip to Mexico I left my Rolex watches home and just wore a cheap running watch. Yes I missed wearing my GMT, but it was sure nice not having to think about it or worry about it getting lost, stolen, mugged, etc.
