San Antonio probably runs a close second with bugs... I learned to fear and loathe scorpions and fire ants! I found that you could murder a scorpion if you caught it under a glass and slid in an acetone-soaked cottonball. And I hope was a painful death, too.

It's Friday night.....at least where I live......and it's my favourite night of the week! I'm happy to see the end of the work week and I have no new bruises! I'm just relaxing with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Al is outside with the snowblower doing a quick cleanup. We're gonna sit at our computers and hang out with our friends in TRF. I never, ever cook on Friday nights.......so I'm thinkin'....hmmm.....pizza? Chinese? Wings? I NEVER count calories on Friday nights and ignore ALL rules of healthy eating!!

See, guys? I've been here, but just haven't had much to say... it's friendlier in here today than some other spots on the forum, that's for sure.

Nancy, you're a girl after my own heart!! I am drinking a Pete's cream ale, and WISH I had some buffalo wings! We are having Cuban style rice and beans when hubby gets home (Fridays in Lent, you know )! Besides, all calories consumed on a Friday night don't count - especially if consumed with a glass of wine or beer! Kiddos are watching Bindi the Jungle Girl (The late Steve Irwin's precocious daughter) on TV. Ahh, peace and quiet!

Do tell! New as in store-bought new? Or new as in new to you?

Lucky guys - getting to have a little alcohol. There's the irony there - my avatar belies the tea-totalling lifestyle I must adopt until Violet's weaned!

Ohhh...a good Catholic girl. I'd better watch my P's 'n Q's here. Even though my kids are grown, I can still remember those evenings you just described. In my house...they usually lasted about eleven minutes.

Carolina, that's enough to make a grown woman cry. One Friday night, Al and I made Margaritas. Got 'em all fixed up just right....strolled into the living room and sat down to discuss our favourite topic.....TRF and Rolex watches. I reached over to pick mine up, not looking.....knocked the whole thing off the end table onto the hardwood floor, area rug and my feet. We'll be watching for you!!!!

Yes... new girl at office. Asked her out to lunch, no go. Maybe not a total wash. She cited a series of general excuses including her policy against going out w/co-workers and inferred she was 'kinda' seeing someone else already. Didn't want to creep her out or anything so I didn't push it. I thanked her for her honesty and told her not to lose her infectious smile (with one of my own)... Who knows, maybe things will change. With a social life of none, opportunities don't present themselves too often (pronounced never). I was disappointed for sure. I never do this kind of thing but I'm getting too old for shyness. Just jumping in there and asking didn't seem to work out too well though. Sometimes I wonder...

What's not friendly? Did I miss something? Do tell...
