About Rolex Forums

I hope this question doesn't come across as improper. If that is the case, I apologize in advance.

In any case, I'd like to know who is "behind" the Rolex Forums. Is it someone or a group of watch lovers that finance the forum with donations, or are there watch merchants involved...? Or is it a mix of both...?

Just wondering, thank you.

Lol-x manages the forum and many members support him by donating money every year. Being a pledge member gives you perks like a bigger inbox for private messages and the ability to participate in giveaway contests every now and then.

Carl, you have a tin hat?

I'm jealous.

I know TRF gets a piece of the Vegas "skim" as well.

It's business.

Trace, the family isn't going to take kindly to your talking. You know what happened to Pesci

Steve and the mods run this place and do a damn good job with a little help from pledge members

I'd imagine that a lot of the pledge funds (anyone with a yellow username gave at least $25 via PayPal) go directly to expenses. A website as busy as TRF would need multiple servers (or need to purchase remote computing power from a company like Amazon)

Plus, there are no bothersome ads, which is why I was happy to donate

Yes it was late 2004 early 2005 TRF was first started by the original founder Mark and with most of today's Mods. But in those early days we had then just a few loyal members around 35 in total, most of those from another well known forum but that's now water under the bridge. And look how we have grown over those 10 plus years, now a very large forum indeed. So we must be very proud of what TRF and its now Admin Steve plus team of mods and all the loyal members what we have achieved today, the best Rolex and other watch forum on the net.The forum is not run for any gain whatsoever and site has now quite a large data base and a dedicated server which costs money. So all donations are used to keep forum running and up to speed, plus if a pledge member there are many advantages and no third party is involved in running forum .

TRF founder looks like Matt Damon
What is the reason he only pops in every couple of years? Why is he not active anymore on TRF?
