I'd take a SD43 over the new sub for $5-6K less. Wow!

That is not the point. They take supply away from the ADs, creating a longer wait. I could care less what someone buys it for.

Kind of makes me sick but it's the way the Rolex world is operating now. Might be time to move to another brand as much as I hate to.

Doesn't make any sense. There can't be much demand at that price. It's bound to come down.

Why would an AD sell to an individual owner? Only if they buy undesirable models and other jewelry? Seems like there's no incentives to sell Rolex's to consumers if you can just instantly sell them for 50% markup or more to a Grey reseller.

Is there any official Rolex policy against this that someone could source or is it just heresay that Rolex poopoo's on that?

Really wild market.

I can't help but chuckle this listing price is more than I paid individually for any of my full PM pieces or my Royal Oak.

Many ADs claim there is a policy, who knows. Why? Maybe to sell other things in their store like jewelry. Many people prefer to try a watch on, see it in person before they buy. Also if all they do is sell to flippers, and the Rolex aftermarket buzz goes away, then they will need to build their clients back up. So I am sure the ADs that do try to do a little of both.

Rolex, AD, Flipper, DSW all make money.

Customer gets his watch without waiting.
Customer gets screwed out of $18 000, and other Customers have to wait longer

Not sure I understand how this impacts the wait time for other prospective customers. The watch was sold — so it’s in the hands of a customer or flipper. Other watches are available from other dealers.

Nobody has a gun to his head forcing the purchase of an expensive watch. If the customer feels “screwed,” he screwed himself.

Honestly this makes me sick. I'm sure many of these grey dealers are fine people but the whole model is ruining collecting for enthusiasts.

I love Rolex, but this also makes it worth looking outside of the brand unless Rolex can get a handle on this.

I do not like the current supply and demand curve for Rolex watches. I also believe the market is artificially high. Too many AD/Gray backroom deals and holding watches.

Wow, that is definitely up there. Should be interesting to see as others appear for sale on grey market what the price point will be. Stay tuned for more insanity.

Yah I know its capitalism and so be it. I get making a profit but I have lost ALL respect for DavidSW. He can go pound sand. Time to enjoy what Rolex's I do have and move onto another brand. Sure stupidity.

wow. A Rolex Sub selling for $28K, because of the green bezel. lol

makes BLNR and BLRO appear to be absolute deep value bargains in comparison. This begs me to question, who are buying these for this kind of money? and why?

For almost $30 grand, I'd get myself a Daytona White gold in steel dial. But I guess some people prefer a steel watch for the same price...

This. I actually think the daytona prices are more ridiculous; it’s been out for years. Don’t forget the while Milgauss fetched 20k when it first came out. It trades for 5k now.

Enough people want these object and couldn't care less about $30K so they will just pick them up at David's or OC's or any other of the grey market dealers which were previously low balled into lower than MSRP.

I hear people complaining here but the reality is that the watches are worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

There is no reason the ADs should sell them to you for $9K, when he can sell it out the back door for $12K and bundle 5 two tone monstrosities Rolex mother ship forces on them.

Insanity is a medical condition. Prices result from agreement between a willing buyer and a seller. One may not like them, or believe they will not be sustained, but they are what they are.

Personally I wish Rolex would raise MSRP's closer to actual market prices.
