New arrival

Incoming. Never owned a turtle. My initial impressions are it seems as heavy as my 16610. Have not had a blue dial in about 6 years now so very happy to add this.
Now. To size this beast.

Thanks it is a j version. I initially was going to get a standard version, called seiko and the blue dial is discontinued. So I figured I would snag a j. Strange the blue dial being discontinued as blue seems to me a very standard dive watch color.

Congrats on the turtle. It'll become a regular on your wrist and fit real nice once sized. I have the blue dial/bezel insert one I bought online at Walmart simply because the price was so good. You can always lighten the load with a Crafter Blue strap. I have one for my other turtle and it looks and fits great.

I sent him my blue one and he received it today. The SRP773. Yours came out real nice!

I have the SRP777 like the one discussed in this thread but with a SKX007 dial. A little mod to change it up and remove the "X" off the dial. May get the patina treatment on that one too.

$80-90 plus return shipping. It’s extremely well done! He even sends pics of pressure testing post completion!

Nice! Turtle is big but due to the short lug, it’s still comfy to wear.

My king turtle says hi

Yeah, I think he meant black. Said he wanted blue but it was discontinued...

No, that is navy blue. The angle made it appear more black.

That's what I thought when I made my first post! I thought he settled for the black SRP777.

Alright, In an unfortunate turn of events, I had to send it in for a new one. Got it, wound it up, 40 turns. Went 6 hours and ceased. Wound it 25 more turns in the morning, went an hour and stopped. Later wound it, 15 times, put it on the watch winder for a couple hours and it ceased moving. I got it on c24 and can exchange it. Hopefully next one works.
I was sad to see this one go back as the bezel was perfect.

That’s odd. Mine is totally reliable.

While I’m waiting for my replacement. I see the crafter blue looks great, though I hear some issues that it can be uncomfortable for some folks? Have you found that? The isofrane looks quite soft and likely comfortable but don’t know how I feel about the giant holes in the strap.

Crafter Blue has been very comfortable. Very impressive quality

Have a couple of Crafter Blue straps. I like them. My wrist is 6.5 inches. YMMV. Try one, not super expensive.

Nice Turtle OP. I picked up a SRP773 at a Seiko sample sale a couple of years ago. I have a 7 1/2 wrist, and some days I love it, other days it’s Meh. I think that’s because I prefer watches <40mm. Some days I think it’s too big. However, I’m actually wearing mine now. And today, I love it.

I love the matte blue dial, bezel, and the lume is amazing. That’s what attracted me to the watch. Along with the price of $140.00.

I feel it does feel heavier than my SS Submariner.
