Went to Dubai, made a surprise purchase.
Had an unexpected trip to Dubai. Lots of watch looking. Stopped in at a few Rolex shops. seemed mostly sold out of everything. My wife was with me and being out of the box was great. Ate some good food and just really enjoyed not being in Afghanistan
I did however make an impulse buy. Not a rolex. I have been a faithful iPhone owner since they came out Day 1 back in 2007. I was really set on a new Blackberry bold 9900. I tried one and really really liked it. However. I upgraded from a 4 to a 4S. So far, It is a pretty expensive small upgrade to what I had before. The only difference is this one is unlocked so I can use it overseas where as my 4 was locked to AT&T. I could not unlock it as I was already passed the supported unlock baseband. so. in short, here is to another year or 2 of iOS. I still may get a blackberry just because :) 3 days in Dubai with 75 degree F sunny weather. Back to frozen pipes and -1 F. no fun here. At least I have siri to keep me company :) |

I wish RIM would release a BBM app for iPhone.
It is funny, every time I get a new iPhone I always get excited about new apps. then i fall back to only using it for email and phone use. ha |

Oh good choice - I was concerned as I was reading that you actually went back to a Blackberry

Nice pick up, my buddy has an 4s and it's pretty cool with siri. I'm stuck in the dark ages with my 4.
Haven't heard any say they wanted a blackberry in a while.

If they release BBM for IOS RIM will most likely close shop not a fan of BB but 9900 is indeed very nice device.

hahaha, yeah, not many people actually WANT a bb. but they do make a nice product. I have always been a fan of those companies that make the hardware and software for their product.
I think BlackBerry will have a nice pick up with the new tablets and when QNX launches. The Bold 9900 touch screen is really really nice. I did not like the torch at all. But that Bold. wow. Porsche Design has a Blackberry that is like the 9900. I would have bought it if it were available. But it was not. Also, as a note of interest. Every local guy in Dubai was carrying both an iPhone 4 and a bold 9900, if they did not have both of these they had a vertu. |

Great purchase Stephen and I'm glad to know you enjoy that little break to Dubai (especially since your other half was with you)!

I had an iPhone 3gs, went to HTC incredible, but have been having trouble so I got the iPhone 4s. The 4s takes amazing photos. However, it did not pair well with my Bluetooth and Jawbone told me Apple has a hardware issue and Apple told me their products are perfect. I got a new replacement 4s, but same problem and I need my phone to serve as a phone first, so I'm back on the incredible but now my WRUW pics are less than incredible and it looks like I'm really hard on my new watch!
