It looks ok but I'd rather pay up for a 3705 as I prefer the 39mm OG with its more balanced dial and 1990s numerals (or get a 3706 for 25% of the price of this limited edition).

Watch is clean. Right in my preferred size range.
The price is a lot more than I was expecting, but I guess in line with all the rest of the Top Gun pieces using same/similar case material. Best of luck to those that are attempting to grab one. |

$12 grand, woof... I get the different case material, but the spitfire chrono is half the price.

After decades, now came out with all sorts of modern-vintage inspired pieces? Little late to the party imo. IWC has lost its brand equity and an opportunity to build a loyal fan base when it had a chance. Just look at the secondary market price for its once most iconic pilot’s watch, the big pilot! Good luck with the remaining 778...

They completely missed the mark on case size. It should have been 39mm.

Isn't that what they said they would do? Sell 222 online outright which happened quickly yesterday and then allow people to preorder the remaining 778 to be made. They will contact you if they have one ready for you.

It’s a fantastic watch, and could well be a collectors piece in years to come. Unbelievably, or not these days, there’s already one on C24 for $18k. If all the watches are sold, then maybe there are some who’ll pay the premium who missed getting the watch. If there are still some available, I’m not sure who will pay that price.
Then again, we live in an age where many pay a premium to get immediate access to a current production watch. Who’d have thought a $15k 116500 would be retailing on the GM for $30k. And 5167s going for $40-50k. Sheer insanity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
