What was your first watch

My first big boy watch given to me by my grandmother when I graduated college in 1996. Fresh battery and gasket. I wore the hell out of it for YEARS.

First watch was a seiko (don’t remember exactly which one, simple steel bracelet and believe time only) when I started getting into watches in HS, then first “real” watch was a Breitling Colt Automatic when I was still very young. Told myself that was the only watch I ever needed, I was very wrong.

LeCoultre orange diver when I graduated high school. It was long ago, he hadn’t met Jaeger. I still have it. Will dig it up for a picture.

First one I bought myself was an IWC Mark XV some 20 years ago which is still my beater today.

Some others as a child including a 1980s Certina DS Quartz that I should have kept. After all it was an integrated bracelet, blue dial sports watch and water proof to 200m. This one would be highly fashionable today... LOL

A Flik Flak when I was a kid.
Then several Swatch.
The first « real one » was a Victorinox with red dial and a GMT hand. I still have it. It is a total wreck but maybe I’ll have it repaired for one of my kids.
Then on to Tag, Hamilton, and my current collection.

I've always liked watches. The first watch I can remember buying was a $10 Casio G-SHOCK homage from Thrifty Drugs in elementary school. I then upgraded to an actual Casio calculator CA-53W-1 when I started middle school. I then bought a two-tone Guess Breitling homage on a saddle leather strap a year later for a dressier watch. My high school watch was a Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Officer’s 1884 24281 and I wore it throughout college and graduate school as well. All four of these are probably dead in a drawer somewhere in my parents' house. Maybe I should find them and put batteries in them for auld lang syne?

My first real watches that I bought simultaneously when I started working at my first real job were an IWC Portofino 3513.27 in 18k yellow gold on black alligator for dress and a steel Omega Seamaster 300M Diver 2531.80.00 for sport. I sold both of them over a decade ago. I don't really miss them but they were great values when I think about what I paid for them.

My first Luxury watch was this DJII to celebrate the first app I developed and sold. Still enjoy and love it.
