Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix complete calender

Anyone has one of these? The blue dial model ticks alot of boxes for me and would like to hear some reviews from owners.

Also, how much discount would be reasonable for this model. Was quoted 10-15% off but wondering if 20% would be possible.

I passed on the blue dial because I have the blue Overseas. I love it!

The Fiftysix series gets a lot of flack but I really only think that should apply to the entry-level time and date model, which isn't really a Vacheron movement nor does it have the Geneva Seal. The Complete Calendar is a different story and I think it represents a good value, especially in steal. It's a fairly versatile watch, as one could wear it as a dress or casual watch and the quality is excellent. I don't think you can go wrong with this model and I would personally try for 25% off from an AD but 20% would be okay too.

I have the silver dial day date model and i noticed Chrono24 availability has gone down and prices gone up in the past 6 months or so. If you can get it at 20% off that would be a good deal.

I was checking out Cellini Jewelers NYC online and saw that they had all of their remaining VC stock marked at 30% off. Included was the Fiftysix Complete Calendar in SS.

Just me guessing, but I think they are losing their AD status. If everything is marked 30% off and they only have a handful of models left. I remember checking their page a few months ago and they had a lot more VC stock.

If Lange is moving to a boutique-only model, surely VC can't be far behind. Here in London, they're one next to the other. I just checked the site - those are insanely good deals on beautiful watches.

As i get closer to pulling the trigger on this and doing more research on other moonphase watches. The patek 5205g Blue Dials seems like it may be a better buy, especially at grey prices. Maybe i should save up a little more for that instead..

As much as I love VC I think there are better calendar on strap options. ALS would be my choice.

Agreed however that’s at least double the price of the VC.

Simple solution to solve that problem. Just make more money and then you can easily afford it.

I just got the three hand 56 model with a date. For the money, there aren't many competitor when it comes to case and movement finishing. The dial is gorgeous to look at and it suits most outfit and occasion. It is also very understated and not known to your average watch thief in London. Although the movement is not in-house but other big names like AP also source movement for some of their watches from other manufacturer eg. JLC. Unlike AP, VC not shy to show the movement with open casebook! With the current craze relating to SS watches, I wonder speculator will start looking at 56s and Overseas!

Well that didn't last long - quickly sold out.
