IWC makes a very nice watch but in my humble opinion the best bang for your buck in watches is a JLC.

Purchase a white face Daytona from me and spend the other $1000 on some serious adult beverages... ;-)

Any Rolex would be great, but I do love the Big Pilot too! Is the Big Pilot a "manufacture" movement though?

Personally speaking I only want to buy new plus I am also thinking that my next spend will be in this price bracket so my thoughts:

IWC; I like the look of the Big Pilot - but never having tried one on it would be hard to say if it would suite. Around that price there are also the Portuguese Automatic and the Regulateur for consideration. I have tried the Automatic and I like it, looking for the others to try before any decision.

Rolex; I have the SD and prefer that to the DSSD (for the time being) so I would probably just think about the Daytona, but to be honest I really prefer the arabic dials which are only available on the gold versions - which would be out because at this price it would be pre-loved! Also would I really want to buy something which was a compromise (especially at $10k!!).

I would also take a look at a Panerai or two; but to spend that much on a Panerai I would need some serious desire over common sense adjustments first.

Also on the list is JLC. I like the Reverso's but again need to try them first.

Oddly there are other watches (for me) than Rolex.... still want a Patek and Vacheron.

Don't me; these are just my opinions...

If it was me.....

1. Used DSSD Mint About $7500
2. Save the rest for the next one

If you are burning a hole, I guess some new pants...

On another note, I would of said GMT II C but seeing as you already have one I would say give the Daytona a crack.

Get a pre owned Day Date in yellow gold. Post 2001 with the heavier links and love it every day.

Is there a more beautiful dress watch?

10k---perfect for a ........................

Daytona, bro (SoCal greeting)---I've had a SS, WHITE dialed, daytona for 20+ years and I've never had more people stop me to see it than when I'm wearing it. It looks even better on than in pix. You can't go wrong here---the Daytona name is legendary world-wide. good luck in your quest.

The Big Pilot is really sweet, but for the money, I'd go JLC as well.

SS Daytona White Dial.

I bought one 3 months ago brand new and cannot stop looking at it :)

Trust me, it is the best 10k you will EVER spend on a watch!
You may struggle to get one however, but my advice is ring around and work hard to find one.
When you find it the reward will be huge :)

Hope you make the right choice, and I hope you love whatever you choose!

Best Regards,
Nairn

For the best "bang for your buck(s)", I suggest you contact my AD and buy these three:
  • Omega Planet Ocean for a diver
  • Omega Speedmaster Professional for a chrono
  • Omega DeVille Hour Vision for dress
And have some change left.

You've already got a nice group of Rolexes. I'd look for something different to add to the rotation. If it were me, I'd go for a Panerai 233 or IWC Portuguese 5001.

Daytona is a beautiful watch, but I am impartial....(think Daytona). If you already have one, then get something you don't already have and get another Daytona in a different dial or metal. If you already have two Daytonas, adding a third Daytona would be nice. On the other hand, because after all, you only have two hands, you might consider purchasing one more Daytona, because you can never have enough Daytona. Have you considered a Daytona? Ok, so here is one more thing to consider. Daytona in SS (black or white dial) is just a killer and distinctive, and perhaps you could find a two-tone Daytona for that price. Of course your dilemma then will be if you ever tire of one Daytona, you can always put on another of your Daytona's to change your perspective. IMHO, you can't go wrong with a Daytona, .....
but it's up to you....
